About the Role
As a Product Data Analyst, you will join the Food52 Product, Design, and Engineering team, responsible for helping teams solve product problems through analysis, SQL queries, and statistics. You’ll be instrumental in guiding the organization’s digital product evolution by helping product managers identify and report on key performance indicators to track success and identify opportunities as we grow our commerce, advertising, and retail teams. You’ll work closely with the Product, Design, and Engineering team to determine how to shape the product roadmap by helping us understand which projects are most valuable to pursue.

Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Senior Data Analyst, you’ll work closely with our Product Team. As a key member of this team, you’ll also partner with Commerce, Audience Growth and Content teams.

Responsibilities

    • Own Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics instrumentation and tracking for all product features and keep it up to date in collaboration with our Engineering team
    • Build and maintain reports and dashboards for specific efforts and for general ongoing use by Product Engineering across all product areas
    • Monitor and report on the health of our product features related to key performance indicators
    • Use business intelligence tools to automate reporting across and deliver data, modeling out metrics, table schema, and reporting dashboards
    • Use a mixture of SQL, programming, and/or statistical tools to pull, clean, and analyze data sets from structured and unstructured data including creating queries, reports, and data sets
    • Drive exploratory analysis across all products, identifying themes, and behaviors that drive product adoption and other key performance indicators
    • Work with product managers to develop data informed business cases for product development
    • Contribute to product experiment design and A/B testing design
    • Provide deep analysis of test results across our platform and synthesize clear recommendations for product managers
    • Contribute to building a quantitative and data-based decision-making culture

Requirements

    • 3+ years experience in a data analytics role, preferably in an e-commerce or technology focused company
    • 2+ years using SQL queries to analyze large data sets (billion-plus record)
    • Experience with analyzing and debugging web analytics, preference for Google Analytics experience
    • Deep experience with testing platforms, preference for experience with Optimize
    • Experience defining and creating tags to web analytics and product performance, Google Tag Manager preferred
    • Familiarity with business intelligence / visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Qlik)
    • Strong statistical background and business judgement to inform product strategy
    • Ability to work in an unstructured environment and to manage multiple projects and requests

Compensation & Benefits
