Guild is hiring a Product Manager to help us enable Analytics through development and deployment of best-in-class data solutions.  Guild operates on the cutting edge of the Future of Work, partnering with the United States’ largest companies to innovate on how to educate and up-skill millions of employees. As a Product Manager at Guild, you will help to ensure achievement of Guild’s roadmap in service of our mission and company goals.

In this role, you will lead planning for an analytics engineering team as they build out data products in our data warehouse.  These data products enrich and personalize the Guild experience for each user, allowing them to find the best path forward for their own career goals, support our coaching teams with metrics, and enable analysis of Guild’s key business priorities.

As a Product Manager you will:

  • Lead product development for analytics engineering, conceiving and launching user-focused, high-quality data products that empower us to meet our user personalization, metric-tracking, and analytics goals.
  • Work closely with fellow engineering, architecture, business and product teams to identify cross-functional dependencies, mitigate risks, remove blockers to development, and align on shared goals and quarterly plans.
  • Become an authority on analytics engineering data products, including all of the use cases they support, the business units impacted by changes, and the vision for future enhancements
  • Conduct user research and gather cross-functional requirements for new data products, connecting them back to the broader data strategy at Guild
  • Collaborate with your Engineering Manager and supervisor to make trade-off decisions on which efforts to prioritize for development
  • Implement a comprehensive change management and stakeholder sign off process that includes new release documentation and analysis of any changes to metrics
  • Ask questions that help the team continuously improve our speed, accuracy and service quality outcomes.
  • Assess and balance the needs of internal customers throughout Guild — from marketing to customer teams to product and analytics squads — with a focus on maximizing business value via ‘right-sized’ solutions.
  • Obsess about the right ways of measuring success and driving self-serve value.

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in product management or a similar function.  In lieu of formal product management experience, 3+ years of experience leading data management and analytics projects, including gathering user requirements and prioritizing needs across stakeholders.
  • A natural curiosity! You want to understand what matters to the business and prioritize based on Guild’s broader objectives to help students at scale.
  • An ability to understand, translate and communicate complex data needs to audiences across an organization. You can explain (both verbally and in writing) the pipeline of data from collection to visualization; and translate user needs into quarterly data product deliverables for the analytics engineering team.
  • A solid understanding of the product development process and agile methodologies across both discovery and delivery, and a strong foundation of user-centered design.
  • A proven track record leading successful data product delivery. You guide those around you to sequence work effectively, make pragmatic decisions on what not to do, and deliver meaningful results on time.
  • Strong technical proficiency – be effective at using your technical depth and the voice of the customer to partner with and earn trust of a world-class Engineering organization.
  • A demonstrated track record of working independently to drive outstanding business results, especially under conditions of ambiguity, high growth, and change.
  • Commitment to Guild’s mission to unlock opportunity for America’s workforce through education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have built data models or reporting tables that serve a variety of use cases and require high levels of data quality.
  • You have experience with modern cloud-based data infrastructure platforms, including relevant experience building products that use Big Data, AI/ML, data storage technologies like Snowflake or AWS Aurora, and data governance and catalog platforms like Monte Carlo or Collibra.
  • You have some experience working with ETL/ELT and reporting tooling platforms such as Fivetran, DBT, Looker or Tableau.
  • You have experience with a Python-based automation tool such as Airflow

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $120,000 - $157,500, as well as company stock options.
