JumpCloud is looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Data Engineering Team. The team provides visibility, monitoring, and insights by collecting, transforming, storing, and simplifying our Directory data to provide custom and out-of-the-box reporting, monitoring and alerting capabilities. The actionable insights generated from the complex data pipelines the Data Engineering team manages helps our customers save time and resources, while also ensuring security and compliance.
 
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll have the opportunity to learn and work across the entire tech stack of our product from the front end user interface to the core backend services. You’ll be focused on building automation, performing manual testing (with a bias for automation to reduce manual testing over time!), executing performance testing and helping to define our overall test strategy for the product - all using BDD! This team has the autonomy to generate and test ideas so they can perform their best work together.

We’re looking for:

    • 4+ years of software quality industry experience
    • Familiarity with, or extreme interest in learning, Behavior Driven Development using Gherkin and PyTest.
    • Passion for delivering products end-to-end working closely with software engineers and technical product managers.
    • 2+ years of experience with a few of the following: Python, pytest, Cypress
    • Experience with data pipelines, ETL, SQL
    • API and backend testing experience.
    • Experience testing large-scale web applications, SaaS applications in the cloud (AWS a plus!) or large, distributed systems. 
    • Microservices environments
    • Databases
    • Experience with rapid product release cycles and a passion to understand and apply an agile approach to software development and testing.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely in a team oriented environment.

Bonus points if you have the following:

    • Experience with testing Kafka, Scala 
    • Experience with data quality testing tools like Great Expectations.
    • Experience with data warehouse technologies like Snowflake.
    • Prior experience working in small, dynamic, fast-paced startup companies or projects.
    • Experience with Continuous Delivery pipelines and associated tools.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role, depending on individual candidate level and experience, is $95,000-$115,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions.

JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that are you able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.

For US Roles: All roles posted in United States locations do require that you be located within one of the 50 U.S. States. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area but as a remote company, you are able to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. If you would like to spend time in the office in Denver/Boulder area, you are welcome do that as well.
