The Challenge
We’re now looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to support our data initiative & transformations, build customer facing dashboards and support internal stakeholders such as Data Science, Product, Sales, and Marketing & Customer Service. We are specifically looking for someone well into their career with solid engineering skills and a desire to transform our customers' financial data as well as our own internal data into actionable insights.

The Opportunity
Cash flow is the toughest financial statement to understand but it’s fundamental to funding your own growth. We build the most intuitive and actionable tools for companies to optimize cash flow performance. Our platform analyzes billions of dollars of B2B transactions each year, users spend 70% of their workday in Tesorio, and we save finance teams thousands of hours. As a result, they can invest more confidently and anticipate their capital needs further in advance.
We’re growing quickly and working with the world’s best companies and the largest bank in the US.  We’re looking to continue to build out our analytics capability with a Senior Analytics Engineer.  This position would be part of the Data Science Team and own all analytical functions at Tesorio.  This position will be focused on creating high quality data through engineering & quality testing for Tesorio customers and internal stakeholders such as Product, Sales, and Marketing & Customer Service. The position will also be responsible for nurturing an environment where all parts of our organization can benefit from our transformed data. The role will also be responsible for high quality visualizations and storytelling with data. We are looking for someone who has the combination of data engineering skills, business sense, and ability to speak directly with executives.

You are an ideal candidate for this role if you enjoy taking a problem statement and turning it into production quality data that can tell a story.  You would enjoy speaking directly with customers, have solid engineering skills to transform data, and build dashboards without bugs or data quality issues.  You would also be able to prioritize requests from multiple internal and external stakeholders and be able to say no to certain requests.

Responsibilities

    • Provide insights to customers and internal stakeholders through building high quality data sources & being able to visualize that data in a constructive manner
    • Be an expert on the data in our database, know every in and out of the data, and how to apply that data to a customer's pain point. Along with this documentation is key to democratizing that knowledge to further empower our customers & internal stakeholders
    • Create quality data through with an analytics stack that utilizes Snowflake, DBT & Airflow
    • Build strategic reporting for executive level stakeholders
    • Speak directly with both external customers & internal customers (sales, customer service, etc.) to understand their data and processes and convert into actionable insight

The Ideal Candidate

    • 4+ years of experience in engineering (software & data) & building dashboards / high quality visualizations
    • Fluent in SQL & Python
    • Experience in a customer facing role
    • Experience using dashboard tools such as Metabase, Looker, Tableau, etc.
    • Ability to familiarize and understand client data and processes and translate into a well crafted story
    • Ability to perform statistical analysis to inform business decisions
    • Solid writing, communication, and presentation skills
    • Exposure to machine learning and AI. Has worked with data science teams to streamline feature engineering / metrics and machine learning production analysis

Nice to Have

    • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Statistics
    • Experience with DBT
    • Experience with AWS (ec2, S3, glue, athena, quicksight)
    • Familiarity with ETL-as-a-service offerings like (e.g. Fivetran)
    • Experience with Apache Airflow
    • Expertise in data warehouse organization and best practices (e.g. star schemas)
    • Experience with user defined functions (UDFs)
