Clover is reinventing health insurance by working to keep people healthier.

Our Strategic Finance/Medical Economics team works cross-functionally to deliver data, analysis, and insights that inform decision-making at the executive level. We use data to measure and improve performance on key metrics across multiple dimensions, including financial, operational and clinical.

As the Senior Business Analyst, you will partner with various groups across the company including Network, Operations, Actuary, Accounting, Technology, and Clinical. Your projects will involve using data and analysis to structure innovative payment arrangements with providers, identifying opportunities to optimize Clover’s medical expenses in Direct Contracting as well as in Medicare Advantage, and using disparate data sources to generate analysis and deliver insight to business owners.

As a Senior Business Analyst you will:

  • Combine technical skills with financial analysis to generate insights from complex data and effectively communicate this information to various levels within the company.
  • Structure, cleanse and analyze Medicare claims data and clinical data.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge of data, modeling, and related tools and apply these analytic disciplines to optimize internal programs, external partnerships, and financial performance.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive efficiencies, both operational and financial, especially in Clover’s direct contracting program.
  • Collaborate with Clover’s Network organization to identify opportunities to enter into value based provider arrangements, structure those arrangements, and evaluate performance.
  • Take the lead on complex projects that involve multiple stakeholders and bring these projects to conclusion.

You will love this job if:

  • You combine financial analysis skills with data savvy. You are used to working with large and complex data sets and using your skills to develop financially meaningful insights from these data.
  • You are independent and entrepreneurial. You prefer to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • You are meticulous. You have great follow-up skills and can prioritize and self-manage your work.
  • You are a clear and concise communicator. You are able to articulate and present findings and insights to all levels of an organization.
  • You are a problem solver. You enjoy working cross-functionally to solve problems and proactively unblock your work and the work of others.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have 3+ years of data analytics experience in a health care setting, preferably with a payor.
  • You have experience in financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis and developing financial forecasts.
  • You have domain expertise in multiple of the following areas: Fee-For-Service Medicare,  Medicare Advantage, medical claims data, shared savings payment arrangements, and CMS data-sets (including working with CCLF files).
  • You have extensive experience with data mining, predictive modeling techniques, and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions.
  • You have strong technical skills in SQL, SAS, Tableau, or the equivalent.
