Common App is currently searching for a Senior Business Analyst, Product Strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Beyond a college application provider, Common App is motivated by a mission – promoting access, equity, and integrity in the college admissions process for all students. We carry the responsibility to evolve and adapt to the needs of every student including learners who may not believe postsecondary education is within their reach. We are expanding our product strategy team to answer the challenges faced by students and by our higher education members alike.

The Senior Product Strategy Analyst is responsible for providing insights on market trends, themes, and competitors to inform product management, product positioning, and Constituent Engagement. The Sr. Product Strategy Analyst will partner with product leaders and our Data Analytics and Research team to develop standard analyses and metrics for Common Application products and services and consult on business decisions based on the results of these analyses. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and driven by a desire to bring greater equity in the college planning and admissions process.

QUALIFICATIONS

This role requires:

  • Candidates must live in the United States.
  • Proven business analysis experience (~5 years) in Strategy, Finance, Business Operations, or Sales Strategy & Operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, or other business disciplines; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Power user of Excel/ Google sheets.
  • Experience with Tableau Desktop.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to reach mutually acceptable solutions
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Driven by deep curiosity when it comes to data and energized by telling data stories
  • Experienced in creating, implementing, and routinizing reporting to improve data-informed decision-making capabilities for product, marketing, and/or sales teams
  • Skilled at constructing executive-level presentations and presenting complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and decision-impacting manner.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficient in marketing/digital marketing research.
  • Experience analyzing demand generation efforts, including return on ad spending, selling funnels, and reseller partnerships.
  • Experience analyzing products and programs utilized by postsecondary institutions, including enrollment management products and services.
  • Comfortable aggregating large data sets from a variety of sources (e.g. combining Salesforce.com and usage data).
  • Experience building Salesforce.com reports
  • Experience with Tableau Server
  • A passion for higher education is a plus.
