The Role

The Sr Analyst – Unit Budgeting develops, implements, and maintains processes to collect, clean, and manage the data used to produce product unit budgets for Mass Markets leadership and stakeholders. Executes the budgeting process vision as directed by Mass Markets leadership. Creates and updates complex Excel and Tableau data modeling for unit analysis and reporting. Maintains a shared projects space for accurate and timely unit budgeting updates.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Communicates and executes unit budgeting vision, maintaining deadlines for reporting and changes to the unit budget.
  • Maintain and update a tracker for unit budgeting updates and communicates effectively with leaders and stakeholders.
  • Creates, updates, & maintains complex Excel data models (data links, formulas, visuals, etc.).
  • Updates monthly, quarterly, and annual presentations units Plan of Record (POR/Budget).
  • Alongside the Mgr., Budgeting/Forecasting, creates and maintains forecasting models aligned to POR/Budget.
  • Produces ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Maintains unit budgeting working site (version control, QA, repository, inventory, etc.).
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand complex business problems and build predictive models and tools.
  • Ability to execute data discovery, exploratory data analysis, and iteratively develop unit budgeting models to identify optimal solutions. Assist with operationalizing the solutions.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • 5+ years related experience (3+ years w/Master's degree).
  • Degree(s) in Finance, Accounting, Business Intelligence, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Excel Power User.
  • Strong experience with tools for managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in SQL.
  • Problem-solving versatility: making the best decisions possible given the data quality and time available.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to quickly pick up new methods, tools, and programming languages.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills demonstrated by an ability to translate complex findings into practical business implications.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills relaying budgeting findings, problems, etc., to business users.
  • Culture of curiosity and perseverance in the face of messy data and complex business and information systems landscape.
  • Creativity and persistence in locating, extracting, and analyzing all relevant data.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
