About the Role:
In this role, your main focus will be enabling self-service: through dashboard organization and departmental folder structure, appropriate user permissions; and intuitive dashboards. You will not only draw insights from disparate data sets through compelling visualizations but also set standards for your peers in LookML, dashboard design, and dashboard performance. You’ll partner with analytics engineering and data engineering to ensure data is available and curated in a digestible format for BI tool and end-user consumption. You will report to the Director of Analytics.
What You'll Do:
Design and implement a user and content management game plan to enhance self-service across Mode and Looker
Establish standard processes in dashboard design and LookML then partner with analysts to implement consistently
Own BI and visualization platform evolution to meet Aurora’s changing needs
Partner with our infrastructure and analytics engineering teams to drive standard practices and enhance our data infrastructure
Partner with analysts to support their BI tooling needs, QA their dashboards, and learn their domains’ data needs
Run and maintain executive and departmental reporting
Engage with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements; help scope and prioritize these requirements to develop analytics projects and dashboards
What We Value:
4+ years of advanced analytics experience
2+ years of BI tool admin experience covering user permissions and content management, ideally in Looker and Mode
2+ years of experience working with Looker. Strong knowledge of LookML standard methodologies
Solid experience designing and optimizing dbt and Looker models based on business and performance requirements
Strong experience developing and training BI tool standard processes among analysts and end-users
High-level SQL proficiency
Advanced problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of database design concepts
A passion for full-stack data modeling and owning the end-to-end process ensuring data quality with a focus on back-end data modeling
A can-do attitude towards examining issues, opportunities, and problems, with the ability to work under their own initiative
A collaborative mentality with a proven record of engaging with multiple collaborators across different business areas
