About the Role

In this role, you will own our analytics data architecture, be a leader in data modeling best practices, and optimize the ingestion and transformation of internal and external data to support accurate, timely, and easy analysis. This is a key role that will help restructure our DAG, rethink our job schedule, map use cases to model design and help us achieve scalable teaching processes. If you are keen to help build an analytics framework and create meaning out of customer touchpoints, this role is well-positioned for you. You will report to the Director of Analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Own and maintain integration between our tools using standard methodologies to ensure a seamless workflow between Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, and Looker

  • Partner with our infrastructure and engineering teams to help drive best practices and enhance our data infrastructure

  • Own the dbt infrastructure and maintenance in both dbt Cloud and Core

  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using dbt and GitHub

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable data models

  • In partnership with analysts, design and implement data marts to address specific departmental data needs 

  • Manage and maintain reporting infrastructure to drive business insights

  • Continuously iterate and improve upon how we use dbt including building macros, applying the latest dbt packages, and finding ways to reduce technical debt

  • Define and implement engineering standard processes including code reviews, documentation, testing frameworks, and alerting to establish trust in our data

  • Provide technical guidance and training to data analysts

  • Develop data quality monitoring solutions to increase data quality standards and metrics accuracy

  • Help maintain our data catalog as a scalable resource to support self-service and single-source-of-truth analytics

What We Value

  • 5+ years as an analytics engineer, data engineer, data analyst/scientist, or similar data role.

  • 3+ years experience using DBT

  • A passion for full-stack data modeling and leading the end-to-end process ensuring data quality with a focus on back-end data modeling

  • Expert in SQL and relational database design

  • Expert-level Python experience in both data analysis and scripting for data engineering

  • Prior experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing dbt and Looker models based on business and performance requirements

  • Prior experience with Snowflake, Fivetran, Looker, and Mode

  • A can-do attitude towards examining complex issues, opportunities, and problems, with the ability to work under their own initiative

  • A collective approach with a consistent record of engaging with multiple collaborators across different business areas 

  • Passionate about documenting your work
