The Senior Data Analyst specializes in collecting, organizing, and then analyzing data so that they can accurately report their findings. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing and conducting the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor data analysts and share best practices
  • Defining, tracking, and explaining key metrics across multiple product areas
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Software Engineers to enhance data sources and quality
  • Interpret data, using quantitative techniques, for the purpose of driving informed business decisions.
  • Deliver custom data requests/dashboards to business/stakeholders
  • Acting data steward for data in the EVERFI data platform
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of data platform projects
  • Assist in the validation and analysis of data quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, computer science or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven work experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst, 3 years preferred
  • Experience deriving metrics and insights from large, semi-structured data sets
  • Experience with web analytics tools, metrics and data
  • Experience using a business intelligence application (Tableau, Looker, etc.), 3 years experience preferred
  • Experience with databases (Redshift, Snowflake, etc), 3 years experience preferred
  • Experience using a programming language to manipulate and analyze data (Python, R, or similar), 3 years experience preferred
  • Experience using SQL to join and aggregate data across multiple s
  • Technical knowledge regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Experience working within agile, iterative development teams
  • Working knowledge of software requirements definition principles and methods
  • Collaborative, excellent listening and communication skills
  • Proficient with Google suite or similar project management tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively across various audience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other data analysts on cross-team projects.
  • Nice to have experience with machine learning or, predictive analytics technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
