Role Description

Forage is looking for a data-driven and scrappy professional to help establish our data and analytics function. As a critical member of this function, you will partner with our product, content & marketing teams to analyze data, uncover insights, and help grow our business.

The ideal candidate is excited about working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and excited to build something from the ground up. 

  • Up-level the ways in which Forage uses data by providing updated governance, new processes and key metrics teams can align and rally around.
  • Create and deliver clear, easy-to-use dashboards that empower non-technical teams to understand performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that inform and influence the strategies and roadmaps of partner teams. 
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure data hygiene and accuracy. 

Responsibilities 

  • Analytical: You understand the business, its key drivers and what it will take to get us to the next level. 
  • Effective communicator: You are able to listen and interpret team needs but are comfortable pushing back and/or articulating tradeoffs. 
  • A big-picture thinker: You are constantly looking for ways to deliver step-function growth and have a demonstrated ability to scale processes, results or teams. 
  • Self starter: You’ll work with several teams so priorities may shift accordingly. Adaptability and flexibility is key. 
  • Team player: You’re able to work among a diverse team (technical and non-technical) and responsive to others’ input and feedback. 
  • Passionate about data: You’re excited about building a data function from scratch and fully recognize the impact it can have on any organization. 

Your Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience supporting a product or marketing function
  • Experience sourcing, vetting and onboarding new tools and systems
  • Advanced SQL experience required; deep experience with Heap, Sigma, Google Analytics, or similar analytics and BI tools
  • Knowledge of data pipeline and transformation tools and methodologies
  • Bonus points for startup and people management experience
