Our Analysis discipline at Levvel, an Endava Company, is growing! We are looking for a highly
motivated and dynamic Senior Data Business Analyst. To succeed you must excel at
communicating across teams and balancing priorities. You thrive in communicating engineering
team concerns up and client concerns down, all while planning ahead and foreseeing potential
blockers. In addition to understanding how to pull business value from data, you must also
understand different technical components at a high level, and communicate them to the client.
As a Senior BA, you will understand how to filter and refine business requirements to build,
define, and prioritize user stories. The stories you create need to clearly and concisely explain
details for the client while also capturing sufficient technical details and acceptance criteria for
engineering teams. You have a strong attention to detail and know how to document complex
technical requirements to support the user stories.
You will work closely with other Business Analysts and program leaders to determine blockers
and coordinate sprint plans. You will also work with technical leads to refine user stories at a
technical level and with the client to extract project requirements. In your role, you will be
responsible for answering inquiries from other Business Analysts and engineers, when and where
requirements and technology intersect. When ticketed work is complete you will work closely
with the QA team to verify that business goals of the ticket were met.
Within the first three months you will have developed a deep story backlog with late breaking
blockers being kept to a minimum, and will have positioned your work, such that the client has a
firm understanding of what your team is working on in each sprint.
Within six months, you will have successfully provided the project with a greater level of
understanding through expanded project documentation, as well as have successfully executed
multiple sprint plans.
Required Skills
- A high-level understanding of back-end services (i.e. APIs, DBs, Data mapping, Analytics, and Visualization tools)
- Data Analysis proficiency with SQL & Microsoft Excel. Tableau and PowerBI or similar tools a plus to support business operations and develop recommendations based off data trends and findings
- Translate client’s business needs into detailed business requirement documents and systems interaction diagrams
- Report and escalate upwards to both client and internal stakeholders
- Collate and convert highly technical concepts into an understandable, written narrative for senior stakeholder audiences
- Demonstrable ability to write clear, accurate user stories, complete with acceptance criteria, for back-end engineers
- Strong ability to research, synthesize, validate and design out solutions to best fit the client’s business needs
- Ability to communicate effectively not only with peers across the portfolio, but also to different seniority levels within the program, and to audiences of different technical abilities
- Power user of Jira
- Experience working within the Scrum methodology and other Agile development methodologies
- Unafraid to take initiative, work in ambiguity, identify areas for improvement and connect with others
- Strong analytical skills with desire for continuous improvement and ability to identify dependencies and root causes within problems
- Takes initiative to find solutions, with the tenacity to work through blockers and dead ends
- An ability to set priorities, adapt to team needs and meet deadlines
- Previous success working in a dynamic environment
- Solid presentation and visualization skills
- Exhibit solid leadership skills
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- An ability to determine that technical work has achieved the desired business results
- Good interpersonal, negotiation, adaptation and conflict-management skills
Desired Skills
- Experience modeling process flows and designing use cases
- Understanding of other Agile tools (i.e, Confluence, AzureDevOps, Visio, LucidChart)
- Experience working on multiple projects at the same time
- Approximately 7+ years of work experience, with 3+ years of that experience in data analytics duties in a project-based environment, and 4+ years of that experience in BA-related duties
- Industry experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, Insurance preferable
