Overview

As Senior Data Engineer, you will serve as an integral member of the Business Applications team, helping to build and design the data platform for the Company as well as scaling architecture and warehouse solutions. As we grow and scale, the Senior Data Engineer is responsible for taking the business through transition and setting teams up for success by interfacing and collaborating with the Marketing, Finance, Sales, Success, and Support teams. Additionally, in this position, you will help to mentor other team members and engage with stakeholders in guiding them through technical conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as system administrator for Data Warehouse, including maintenance of user access, user security, creation of objects, monitoring of extract file loads, maintenance and setup of report schedules, maintenance of hierarchies, validation of data integrity, and creation of custom views and queries
  • Is responsible for the monitoring of day-to-day tasks and pipelines related to the Operational Data Warehouse, including breakfix and performance tuning to ensure the Data Warehouse delivers accurately and on SLA
  • Designs, builds, and owns core data models and key infrastructure to manage data and usage across our Snowflake account with an emphasis on Operational data including but not limited to Sales, Finance, Support, Marketing and Success data marts
  • Creates business intelligence reports for business partners as needed
  • Manages architectural issues and recommend alternatives, when appropriate
  • Works with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system problems; provide on-call support, as required.
  • Ensures compliance for all data warehouse administration activities
  • Manages and collects business metadata and data integration points
  • Coordinates with business analysts and prepares data warehouse design for systems; analyzes user requirements; prepares technical design specifications to address user needs.
  • Prepares test scenarios and evaluate test results to validate accuracy of programs and procedures
  • Designs and implements a data quality monitoring systems including source-to-target data validations and well as anomaly detection
  • Effectively interprets requirements across already-created solutions and reverse engineers Dashboards to requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • 4+ years of data engineering experience, with a preference for knowledge in Snowflake, SnowSQL and SnowPipe
  • Experience using Amazon AWS integrated with a Snowflake environment is a plus
  • The ability to write program in queries using Structured Query Languages (SQL) to build, maintain, and extract and transform data from relational databases
  • An understanding of basic scripting languages with preference in Python
  • The ability to clearly present learnings to business leaders and technical stakeholders
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment, being flexible and willing to jump in to do whatever it takes to be successful.
  • Capable of effectively manage multiple project and service requests.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Top notch written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong investigation, remediation, and reporting intuition
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within and across departments

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $100,000 – $125,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
