Transfix is making huge investments in our data warehouse and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer, ETL Developer to help transform our data via repeatable and scalable ETL systems. As part of our Data and Analytics team, you’ll create systems, manage workflow efficiency and make continuous improvements to our ETL processes. In this role, you’ll dive into the current state of our data processes and determine the necessary modifications to improve the efficiency of our workflows.

In this Role You Will:
- Scope, create and own the transformation layer within our data stack and be responsible for ensuring we have repeatable and scalable ETL systems
- Establish patterns for ETL/ELT transformations layers within Airflow and DBT for use by downstream systems and customers
- Evaluate the current state of our ETL-related tech stack and determine what (if any) tools need to be added to improve workflows.
- Create a system to manage workflows and requests by assessing the existing team processes and making any necessary adjustments.
- Determine any necessary modifications and resource estimation for our data warehouse migration plan
- Recruit, coach and mentor a diverse team of ETL developers with an eye towards continuous improvement and maintenance of our workflows and processes
How You Know this Role is for You:
- You have 5+ years experience as an ETL developer or in a position that required regularly writing ETL code
- You have 2+ years in a technical lead or management role
- You are a SQL expert - you’re able to look at a SQL job and understand what it takes to optimize before even looking at the query plan!
- You’ve designed and built ETL processes to support point-in-time reporting using change data capture
- You’ve shown the ability to own and provide accountability for the transform layer of ETL
- You possess excellent project management skills - you can lead post mortem meetings and ensure project milestones are metYou have strong knowledge and understanding of DBT and Data Warehouse structures
- You’re a critical thinker and pair that with a keen attention to detail
- You have an understanding of the software development lifecycle
Location Note: This role can be either 100% Remote or a hybrid in-office position, however we value real-time collaboration in our teams and are prioritizing candidates in Eastern, Central, and Atlantic time zones for remote positions.
