We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that supports our data-driven decision-making processes. As a Senior Data Platform Engineer at Greenlight Financial Technology, you will play a crucial role in driving our data strategy, ensuring data quality, and enabling seamless data integration across.

Your day-to-day:

    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support real-time and batch data processing.
    • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
    • Optimize and enhance existing data platforms to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Implement and enforce best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security.
    • Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse and securely export data to external partners.
    • Setup and maintain CI/CD processes for automated deployment, integration, and testing.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot data platform issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
    • Implement MLOps processes to automate model deployment, monitoring, and retraining, ensuring seamless integration with existing data pipelines.
    • Collaborate with machine learning engineers and data scientists to build and maintain feature stores, enabling efficient feature reuse and accelerating model development.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

What you’ll bring to the team:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with a strong focus on data platform development.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
    • Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and data warehousing solutions.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native data services.
    • Expertise in building and managing ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or similar technologies.
    • Experience or familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow) for model deployment, monitoring, and versioning.
    • Familiarity with feature engineering techniques for ML, feature selection, and feature store management to enhance model performance and reliability.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Our stance on salaries:
Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

The estimated base pay range for this position in (NY, CA, WA): $142,000-192,000
The estimated base pay range for this position in (CO): $142,000-177,000
