Position Summary
As a Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of building out the data analytics and ML/AI function on our Engineering Team. You’ll be responsible for architecting and building the data and machine learning capabilities for new Virtuous products. Responsibilities will include identifying the datasets that help drive business value, choosing the tool/technology needed to hit our goals, and building scalable predictive models to accelerate the growth of our nonprofit customers.
In this role, you should be highly analytical with a background in analysis, ML/AI, math and statistics. You should also have a customer-facing product mindset focused on delivering measurable wins for both Virtuous and our customers.
Responsibilities
Identify valuable data sources and work with data engineer to automate collection and ingestion processes
Analyze complex data sets using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to identify business opportunities and provide actionable insights.
Design and implement machine learning models to automate business processes and improve decision-making.
Build predictive models to forecast behavior and improve personalized targeting and engagement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to identify business needs, define requirements, and develop solutions that meet the business needs.
Develop and implement data-driven solutions to drive value to Virtuous customers.
Implement models in production by collaborating with software developers on API and performance requirements
Communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, R, and similar languages.
Experience with SQL, BI, data visualization tools, and big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, ClickHouse, Snowflake or AWS.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with large and complex data sets.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools quickly.
