We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Data Scientist with significant experience in business forecasting to join the Business Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanics of building business forecasting models from key business drivers, and linking the results back to key business initiatives. The candidate will be well-versed in statistical methods, predictive modelling, experimentation and measurement and data storytelling. This role will report to the Director of Business Analytics.

The Business Analytics team is a partner to the Sales, Marketing, Go-to-Market, and other strategic business stakeholders. We play an active role in establishing data-driven business decision making capabilities, identifying new business opportunities and measuring impact of our business initiatives.We are a rapidly growing team that operates with an owner’s mindset. What you’ll do:

  • Translate Business Forecasting questions into specific analytical questions that can be answered with available data using statistical and machine learning methods
  • Improve existing Business Forecasting toolkit by developing new data sources, testing model enhancements, running computational experiments, and fine-tuning model parameters for new forecasting models
  • Work with the Data Engineering team to produce the required data when it is not available, and to deploy models in production
  • Using the models and tools you develop, partner with financial analysts within FP&A to develop analysis frameworks and deliver impactful insights and recommendations to senior leaders within Finance and across the business
  • Actively contribute to the modernisation and automation of the FP&A team’s forecasting process by driving the migration of spreadsheet-based models into Python

Who You Are:

  • MS in statistics, mathematics, data science or related quantitative fields
  • 4+ years of experience in building, deploying and maintaining forecasting models, preferably at a large, well-established B2C technology company.
  • Experience in experimental design and analysis (A/B, market-level)
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large database systems
  • Experience in running advanced analyses in languages such as Python, R, etc. Experience with model production and MLOps practices preferred
  • A proven track record of using analysis to impact key business decisions
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate the results of complex analyses
