As a Senior Data Scientist for Product Strategy on our Product Insights Enablement team, you will empower data-driven innovation by working closely with Duo’s Product org. In collaboration with Product Managers and Product leadership, you will create and coordinate relevant metrics, models, and analyses to improve the speed and effectiveness of Duo’s strategic and prioritization processes.
What you’ll do…
- Build relationships across Duo’s Product org, maintaining broad context about Duo’s products and customers.
- Collaborate with data scientists embedded with product development teams to ensure that the product metrics they develop are centralized and available to appropriately inform product strategy.
- Work with domain experts through the business to establish and use shared metrics, models and concepts for customer segmentation, financial forecasting, customer retention, and more.
- Empower Product Managers and Product leadership to use data and models appropriately and effectively in their decision making processes.
- Become an expert on Duo's product metrics across the portfolio. Use your data detective and creative problem solving skills to identify and find solutions for any gaps in the data, and work collaboratively with other data scientists to advise on consistent cross-product understandings of these metrics.
- Communicate the results of any findings plus their limitations clearly to others who may have little experience interpreting complex data and who will share those complexities more broadly across the business and with customers.
Skills you have…
- Background in statistics, product analytics, or another data-intensive field, with 3 or more years of experience in a relevant professional setting.
- Significant experience applying data modeling and analytics to decision making for a commercial software product (bonus points for experience with SaaS B2B products).
- Proven capability to work with a variety of partners to elicit and articulate their data needs.
- The ability to translate technical findings and their limitations to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with SQL, R, Python, or other data analysis tools, with expert-level experience in at least one of these.
- An aim to leave data, processes, and pipelines better than you found them.
- Comfort working under ambiguity, and an ability to build clarity from uncertainty.
