About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who will work closely with our Data, Product, Analytics and Engineering teams to implement, configure, and maintain data quality across the Cars.com brand of websites.

In this role you will work within our Analytics Engineering team to help mentor and coach a team of data analysts, while working with product leaders to define and implement digital measurement strategies, assist in performing A/B testing, and monitor our analytics and audience data quality; all in an effort to improve our business goals and help shoppers find their match!

More specifically you will:

  • Play a lead role in creating and maintaining analytics data tracking requirements
  • Configure tracking requirements for Adobe, Google Analytics, and marketing pixel implementations
  • Mentor analysts on our team and throughout the organization
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements through active partnerships, collaborating with teammates and data engineers
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the organization
  • Actively participate in the execution and planning of our data capture strategies to improve data automation, data quality, and our analytics capabilities
  • Ability to problem solve data issues through research and analysis
  • Troubleshoot our tracking and reporting platforms to find ways to improve our data collection, reporting, and targeting efforts
  • Proactively stay up to date with the product and feature releases across our suite of properties
  • Staying up to date on analytics technologies and best practices

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or similar
  • Expert level SQL knowledge
  • Expert knowledge of digital analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Snowplow, Amplitude, or similar)
  • Excellent diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles
  • 4+ years of work experience in a highly analytical role (Data Analyst or Business Analyst)
  • 3+ years of experience working with a multiple stakeholders (marketing, product, engineering)
  • Highly proficient using at least one data visualization product (Looker, Tableau, QuickSight, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with tag management (Adobe Launch, Google Tag Manager)
  • Python experience a plus
  • Familiarity with marketing tools and concepts
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
