The Velir Behavioral Analytics department is responsible for building best-in-class behavioral analytics solutions and partnering with our clients to analyze the data collected by these solutions. The contributors on the team use a consultant mindset to understand our client challenges, suggest methods of solving those challenges through behavioral analytics, and execute on those suggestions. Ultimately, our work adds value and insight into our client’s understanding of their user and the impact of their marketing strategies.  

The Senior Digital Marketing Analyst is responsible for managing and executing client work related to behavioral analytics platforms, customer data platforms, marketing analytics tools, tag management tools, and data-driven marketing strategies. We are looking for a well-rounded individual who can work independently, pick up new technologies and concepts quickly, is knowledgeable of technical marketing concepts, and can think holistically about client needs and asks. The Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional project teams to produce various behavioral analytics, reporting, and tracking solutions.  

Responsibilities: 

Digital Marketing and Product Analytics Expertise: 

  • You are responsible for consulting directly with clients to understand their holistic needs in the analytics and marketing space. Analysts deal with the implementation, customization, configuration, and usage of analytics tagging platforms, product and marketing analytics tools, and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs). You will gather requirements for analytics solutions, build measurement strategies that tie business goals to digital initiatives, and build technical documentation (solution design documents, tracking plans, engineering specifications) that meets those requirements. Your job is to ensure quality data is being recorded, thoughtfully interpret the data, and deliver insights to support decision making. As a senior member of the Behavioral Analytics team, you serve as a mentor to other analysts, both individually and in group settings. 

Cross-Team Collaboration:  

  • You are responsible for collaborating with peers and other functional departments to develop and implement analytics tracking strategies and approaches that support engagement goals and understanding client needs. 

Project Delivery:  

  • You are responsible for ensuring that large and/or more complex analytics engineering projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. 

 

Tools & Technologies 

  • Event-based analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics 4, Amplitude, MixPanel) 

  • Tag management systems (e.g. Google Tag Manager) 

  • Business intelligence platforms (e.g. Google Looker Studio) 

  • Customer Data Platforms (e.g. RudderStack, Segment, mParticle)

 

Skills and Abilities: 

Data Analysis: 

  • You have excellent analytical skills and can gather appropriate data sets, step through common exploratory data analysis (EDA) techniques, identify deviations from the norm and relationships between various data points, and find answers to questions posed by clients.  

Technical Web Concepts: 

  • You have an understanding of concepts such as the HTTP request lifecycle, client-side vs. server-side, and the Document Object Model (DOM). You are proficient in the use of CSS selectors. 

Consulting: 

  • You have strong interpersonal skills which enable you to work on a cross-functional team that contains both technical and non-technical disciplines. You can effectively communicate with and provide training to clients who are often not technically savvy. 

Programming: 

  • You are able to read and write simple JavaScript and RegEx patterns, such as what might be utilized in Google Tag Manager. Advanced programming skills are not required. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Expert proficiency with marketing analytics platforms, preferably in Google Analytics 4 
  • Expert proficiency in analytics tagging and tag management, preferably in Google Tag Manager  
  • Expert proficiency with at least one product analytics platform 
  • Except proficiency with at least one customer data platform 
  • Knowledge of common web languages (e.g. JavaScript, RegEx, CSS) 

 

Experience and Education: 

  • Experience designing and implementing behavior analytics solutions and related reporting solutions. 
  • Experience using event-based analytics systems like GA4, Amplitude, or Mixpanel.  
  • Consulting experience (agency or otherwise).

Compensation Range: $105,000 - $115,000 annually

Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
