As a Senior ML Engineer on the Sales AI team, you will bring your passion for AI and machine learning to support our new Sales product line. You will design, build, and improve AI automation and augmentation to scale the most effective ecommerce conversational salesforce.
Our new Sales product drives revenue for merchants by connecting our sales team with potential customers. We are using AI to support the needs of different users of our product: sales associates, customers, sales managers, and the merchant.
Our backend, primarily Python within an AWS architecture, is evolving to meet scalability and complexity demands. You'll use AI tools and neural networks for natural language processing, developing machine learning models to predict customer behavior, personalize interactions, and automate tasks. Your role involves integrating these technologies into our sales platform for a seamless experience, collaborating with our engineering team. Beyond coding, you'll influence our engineering culture, mentor in AI/ML best practices, and drive innovation that maintains our competitive edge in e-commerce.
Primary duties
- Architect, build, maintain, and improve AI automation and augmented experiences that drive efficiency in the Sales product.
- Work closely with product and other engineers on your team to deliver a high quality, world-class product
- Lead group sessions and participate in the product to engineering project lifecycle to actively ensure your team is guided by product-focused architecture and implementation to achieve our goals .
- Guide your team to make optimal technical and infrastructure decisions, using POCs and new technologies to drive change.
- Mentor other engineers on best practices, standards, and learning opportunities.
- Contribute to roadmap ideation by framing tradeoffs in solutions for prioritized problem spaces.
- Lead planning and project management for AI initiatives within the Sales product. Be accountable for communicating transparently and proactively, defining scope, breaking down and estimating tasks, risk and change management.
- Help build the best team by giving candid, constructive feedback that improves team processes, outcomes, and opportunities.

- Intellectual curiosity and keeping up with the latest research in the AI field.
- Participate in end-to-end machine learning model lifecycle, from prototyping, implementing & evaluating various Machine Learning models (traditional algorithms, deep learning models and Large Language Models), followed by deployment and monitoring using AWS tools.
- Leads and advocates for engineering best practices in machine learning (code quality, testing, monitoring, model evaluation, to name a few)
