General Summary
Identify and execute solutions that leverage data as a strategic enabler to generate insights that optimize strategic and operational decisions. Direct activities of an analytics team, to include data engineering, ETL, BI development, data visualization, and data science.
Essential Functions
Provides strategic direction and guidance to business partners and business area leadership to enable the best Data Governance and analytic solutions that meet the business needs.
Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
Convert desired outcomes into value-based business initiatives, linking them to specific analytics, and applying interpretation methods/ techniques to create value.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with business partners and acts as a primary point of contact between Data Governance, analytic teams, technical teams, and the business partner
Participate in the development of business and Enterprise Analytics strategic plans and acts as a trusted advisor to develop analytics capability plans and roadmaps to support business strategies
Plays a key role in increasing Data Literacy across the enterprise by sourcing and recommending training, arranging, and/or facilitating information sessions and capability demonstrations.
Defines, prioritizes and manages analytics program and project initiatives, including ROI analysis and SLAs
Define analytics led performance management models spanning multi-functions with direct/ indirect causality, used to inform strategic and operational planning and decision making.
Drive and adopt strategic and transformational change at a functional and enterprise-level
Manages and directs analytics delivery functions, including data engineering, ETL, BI Development, Data Visualization, and data science.
Engage in reactive and proactive issue identification, problem solving, and action extending beyond the team. Identify operational and strategic risks; mitigate identified risks
Stays abreast of the latest data analytics and data governance best practices and technologies
Lead the process of interviewing and hiring for open positions within the unit ensuring that the most qualified candidates are selected
Prepare Key Job Accountabilities (KJAs) for direct reports that tie to their job descriptions and goals.
Monitor the performance of direct reports.
Provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
Conduct performance reviews and recommend salary increases
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 8 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of direct reports
Strategic skills, business acumen, and curiosity to support envisioning work, program planning, and strategic partnerships
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment the performance of his/her job duties.
Strong, demonstrated skills in implementing technology and/or analytics solutions to improve processes, solve business problems and achieve business objectives
Ability to consistently meet deliverables' target date or within the expected timeframe
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to implement and execute structured decision-making. Acts independently to determine the best possible methods and procedures to deliver against Enterprise Data & Analytics assignments
Ability to lead at the enterprise level
