Some of the things that I've done to help grow my career at Kellogg have been to, I think, first of all, keep an open mind and to be open to saying yes to different roles as they become available or the ability to volunteer, to be part of project teams. When I first started, I think I had a very prescriptive mindset of the career path I would like to take. And actually when I let go of some of that and was able to think more from a perspective of how can I continue to learn, how can I continue to develop, that actually has opened more doors for me than I think if I were to have been a bit more rigid and really tried to follow something that was very structured or that I had structured in my mind. The other thing has been to spend energy on building and maintaining relationships, having the right network of individuals who have been able to help me along the way has really been invaluable to me. Whether it's just, I need to do some fact finding or I need to do some research about something, and I know exactly who to go to for the answer. Or whether it's been getting some help in a mentor capacity, having that network has been something, like I said, that has just been of enormous value to me and something that I hope you do once you come here to work for Kellogg.

As the Senior Manager, Data Governance, you will play a central role in moving us toward a more data and insights-driven organization by ensuring the success of Kortex, our new Data & Analytics platform.  You will drive that success by ensuring that the organization has visibility and access to the data in the platform and that it is properly maintained and governed.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Framework Design – You’ll be responsible for finalizing the design of the Analytics Governance framework  to ensure that the company achieves a solid return on our investment. You will work with regional stakeholders to drive strong data ownership, enable adoption and governance of the platform, and help analytics teams stay connected on projects and priorities.
• Governance Implementation – Implementing the governance framework will be key to your success. You will ensure engagement from business and IT partners, work with regional data governance teams and be a champion for the new platform. You will support central and regional analytics councils to facilitate prioritization of key initiatives and sharing of best practices, as well as support governance guidelines and ways of working.
• Ongoing Operations – Coordinating with regional analytics councils and governance leads will ensure we are prioritizing key initiatives, new capabilities and supporting meaningful business outcomes .  You will monitor and support the adoption of the governance framework by internal and external project teams, as well as data stewards and owners.  You will drive the quality and visibility of the data in the platform through adoption and use of our data catalog.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in working with or managing Data Governance tools and initiatives and managing Data Warehousing and Reporting/Analytics technology and/or initiatives
• Strong facilitation skills
• Experience working with data in the Consumers Packaged Goods industry and in a global organization working across regions/global teams
• Excellent communication skills and ability to connect at all levels of the organization
• A passion for using technology to drive value and increase productivity
• A history of being a self-starter, innovative and creating success in ambiguous situations, driving results through influence and a passion for excellence
