About the Role:  

The Senior Pricing Analyst will play a multifaceted role within the organization by building a best-in-class pricing analytics function while also getting exposure to new pricing initiatives and building business cases in support of Product Marketing.  You will use a data-driven approach to make strategic recommendations and drive understanding of our fast-growing business that will make a measurable impact on Planet’s growth objectives. This role within a newly created Pricing function will report directly to the Senior Director, Pricing & Packaging and will work closely with the Finance, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Product Management teams.

You are a self-starter, independent thinker, deeply analytical and detail-oriented, a problem-solver, and capable of working in a structured manner to thrive in ambiguity. You have a tendency to roll up your sleeves, slice and dice large sets of information, and build solutions to problems that have not been taken on yet.  You will help shape what pricing analytics will look like at Planet.  You will also help support implementation of new packaging by creating pricing tools that make migration from old models easy for Sales to execute.

This role can be remote.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Analyzing customer and sales data and pricing patterns to determine the optimal price points for products or services and to offer discount improvement strategies
  • Creating best in practice pricing analytics by working closely with product marketing, finance and sales
  • Conducting market research to identify trends in the industry and competitors’ pricing strategies
  • Developing pricing strategies/models that take into account factors such as customer demographics, competitor activities, regional differences, economic conditions and value attainment
  • Help drive value based pricing assessments in the organization and work closely in analyzing ROIs of deals
  • Provide support to the Pricing Committee process as needed, including help shepherd proposals through the vetting process
  • Analyzing sales data to determine pricing needs, including setting new prices or adjusting existing ones
  • Supporting pricing analysis related to acquisitions

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience analyzing data and driving actionable results; high preference will be given to someone with specific Pricing analytics experience
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and databases
  • Salesforce reporting knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge and skills in spreadsheet and presentation software (google slides/sheets, excel/powerpoint)
  • Prior startup, tech world or consulting experience a plus
  • Analytical thinker and structured problem solver
  • Comfort working in ambiguity with a focus towards fast execution and iteration
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent with specialization in marketing, finance, business, MIS, or related field of study

Compensation (only applicable for Colorado applicants):

The base pay range targeted for this position in Colorado is: $81,000 - $159,000. This role is eligible for bonus, commission and equity.

The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, including experience, location, and other business considerations.

Planet is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not able to work from a state where Planet is registered, you will not be eligible for employment.
