Job Description
Seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Senior Principal Data Scientist to join our team, making a significant impact in the dynamic world of data science and digital media. We are looking for a talented individual who brings deep insights and expertise in all aspects of data science and digital media. This is an opportunity for someone who has earned a stellar reputation in the field and is passionate about applying their knowledge to design, conduct, and analyze large-scale data from diverse sources.
As a technical leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping data analyses and strategies, contributing to the development of cutting-edge data science, digital media, and data engineering systems, as well as end-to-end applications and platforms. Your proficiency in data science algorithms, artificial intelligence, and underlying technologies will be crucial in driving innovation and excellence.
Collaboration is key, and you will have the chance to work closely with cross-functional teams, guiding and providing technical expertise in data science areas. Your ability to communicate effectively will foster seamless cooperation between team members from various disciplines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Use state of the art computational and statistical methods for exploratory data analysis (EDA) to find patterns, anomalies, and deliver insights from very large data sets.
- Design and run experiments, conduct research into new algorithms, improve data quality and identify key insights.
- Work with product teams as an individual contributor and/or a technical leader to significantly contribute to data analyses and strategies, design and implementation of current (or future) versions (or multiple concurrently developed versions) of large-scale data science, digital media, data engineering systems, and end-to-end applications.
- Be a subject matter expert in data science (ML/AI) algorithms and underlying technologies (programming languages, systems, platforms)
- Define and shape the data needed for training ML models for a wide variety of cases and scenarios.
- Leverage existing data to track and analyze user behaviors and engagements for productive modeling.
- Work with third party vendors to design and develop end-to-end data solutions and/or to integrate their data into the company’s products.
- Evaluate new technologies and data products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating new capabilities within the company's software systems and applications.
- Frequently serve as technical data science and digital media lead for large cross-team projects, determining implementation tasks, tradeoffs, milestones, and assigning tasks to other team members on multiple teams.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics) (Required)
- Doctorate Degree (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered when appropriate.
Experience
- 10+ years Relevant Experience (Required)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- There’s never a single right way to solve a problem. We’ve found a variety of backgrounds to be highly successful including specialties in Econometrics, Graph Theory, and Computational Sciences. If you’re a creative problem solver, your background will be valued.
- Prior experience in digital marketing technology and the desire to keep up with industry trends is a major plus.
- Strong technical proficiency in machine learning algorithms, scalable machine learning platforms, languages, and tools (Python, Spark) in a corporate setting.
- Desire to produce impactful solutions with broad influence while collaborating with other Data Scientists and Engineers.
- Ability to communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., data science, engineering, and product management).
Additional Information
Salary: $215,000-235,000
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
