Senior Space Data Analyst

The Senior Space Data Analyst will serve as the primary reporting lead for Workplace Experience and Real Estate (WERE). The person in this role will own the design, build, and rollout of relevant reporting dashboards, including the Toast Real Estate Manager. They develop creative solutions for communicating our space and capacity needs and performance. As part of the Occupancy Planning and Analytics team, this role will also include the administration and management of the Integrated Workplace Management System, our utilization sensor technology, and our team intranet content. This role works closely with the Real Estate, Workplace Experience, Occupancy Planning, and People Analytics teams, in a cross-functional way to assist in reporting and analytical tasks.

About this roll* (Responsibilities):

  • Support credibility and accuracy of the IWMS space plans, space configurations, and furniture layouts
  • Provide QA review and audits of all IWMS data on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Analyze and recommend process or system improvements for greater efficiency.
  • Maintain and provide administration for WE’RE team content on Toast intranet website
  • Conduct a needs assessment with the current WERE Team members and partner teams to build out a reporting roadmap and execution plan
  • Build out a regular reporting practice and cadence for leadership and functional partners
  • Help manage, track and provide insights on real estate and workplace experience metrics (utilization, attendance, sf/head, cost/head, cost/SF) that will allow the WERE team and partners to better understand and improve the health of our Real Estate Portfolio
  • Build scenario-based real estate demand and supply models and other analytical frameworks to better forecast our need for space in the future. 
  • Help identify key insights and track emerging trends to inform our real estate decisions and narratives. 
  • Build, maintain and manage dashboards and reporting associated with the Real Estate Manager tool, ESRI, and other business intelligence tools. 
  • Assist Senior Occupancy Planner as needed, including, but not limited to presentation preparation, data retrieval, space planning, and programming, communications, training development, and execution of long and short-term goals and strategies.
  • Support the WE and Facilities team in operational performance metrics and SLA KPIs as needed
  • Answer business questions through independent investigation and analysis. Identify operational inefficiencies, data quality issues, and behavioral trends.

Do you have the right ingredients* (Requirements)?

  • 3-5  years of related experience in real estate data management and analytics 
  • Proficient with SQL
  • Great communicator and storyteller with data. 
  • Experience with data visualization and enterprise BI tools. Can confidently choose the best visualization style for the given context; the insights from your visualizations speak for themselves
  • Experience auditing large datasets and identifying data hygiene issues
  • Advanced knowledge of Google suite products or equivalent Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to efficiently analyze large volumes of data, quickly draw insights, and present concise/clear recommendations of results
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, changing environment and to adapt while focusing on key goals and objectives
  • Ability to influence across the business 
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously and is a self-starter
  • Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional and matrixed organization
  • Proactive in finding solutions to ensure team needs are met
  • Detail-oriented and understanding overall goals and strategies of space
  • Experience with IWMS systems preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD a plus
