The Role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Product Manager for our Data and Business Intelligence team who is passionate about collecting, storing, optimizing, and deriving insights from data to enable the organization. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams and partners to design, build, and roll out systems that deliver the General Assembly’s vision and strategy.

In this role, you’ll work with a team of analysts, engineers, and functional experts to gather our data and enable reporting and feature development that leverages it. You’ll analyze workflows to see how data can make them more efficient, applying instrumentation, collection, cleaning, and governance along the way. You’ll also serve as a thought leader, influencing with data and building a data informed decision making culture.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal and external stakeholders across the globe to understand their data and analytics needs, including both internal stakeholders and customers
• Articulate a clear data backlog and roadmap and map the steps that will accelerate progress
• Anticipate challenges and build in mitigation strategies
• Evaluate possible solutions and execute proof of concept work to test and validate
• Organize cross-functionally with operations, marketing, admissions, and engineering teams to understand what data needs to be collected and ensure data governance and quality
• Champion data privacy, governance, and data ethics in the organization
• Collaborate with senior leaders in engineering, learning, and design to manage capacity, resources, and cross-team dependencies

Qualifications

• 5-10 years experience in Product Management with experience working on complex integrations, migrations, platforms, and technical implementations
• Familiarity with Tableau and Looker; experience with Snowplow and Redshift a plus
• Experience in development and management of BI/Analytics tools deployed in the Cloud
• Experience in building features that use AI/ML to produce actionable insights
• Strategic and effective communication skills, using various modalities to inspire, educate, map, influence, and persuade
• Ability to document complex workflows and the data the moves through them
• Hands-on experience working in an agile environment supporting fully agile delivery teams, ideally in a Scrum environment

• Ability to work with all levels of management, including executive leadership, and manage through indirect influence
• BS in Computer Science or similar.
