About the Team & Role
Our Platform Engineering team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer. This team is responsible for delivering a seamless end-user experience with their data. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be exposed to every aspect of our platform and help drive the products' evolution as we continue to grow. We value innovation and encourage you to bring your knowledge and expertise to build out new platform components. If you are interested in helping to develop and deliver critical features to solve complex healthcare data problems, this position is for you.

You Will:

• Contribute to existing REST APIs that support our broader platform
• Evolve our platform by delivering a smoother user experience in Snowflake
• Be an advocate for best practices in areas such as cloud architecture, code quality (Python), CI/CD
• Be a steward in cost-effective, scalable cloud architectures
• Designing, implementing, and testing our data pipelines
• Optimizing data delivery, designing or re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Ensuring data integrity and accuracy within our various data pipelines
• Guide regression and performance testing of components as needed
• Consult on architecture to separate sensitive healthcare data among multiple customers in a multi-tenant environment

What we're looking for: 

• Strong background in data platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres.
• Strong data development skills using stored procedures, DDL, and SQL
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Previous REST API design work including Postman and Ingestion via API
• Experience full lifecycle development of highly scalable data products in a CI/CD environment such as Gitlab, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
• Solid understanding of “big data” architecture including set processing, SQL window functions, OLAP data structures
• Cloud development with AWS or Azure.
• Prior experience with messaging and automation services (SNS, SQS, Azure Notification Hub)
• Prior experience with containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Prior experience with serverless (AWS Lambda or Azure Functions)
• Background working in an Agile delivery framework

Bonus Points:

• Experience with standard data integration tools such as dbt, Talend or SnapLogic.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation using Terraform and GitLab
• Spark and Databricks
• Prior healthcare technology experience
