Role Overview:

• Robust home value prediction models (AVMs) that will be used to accurately measure current and future home values and deploy hundreds of millions of dollars of capital across a growing number of markets.
• Large scale feature engineering across a variety of data types (tabular, geospatial, images, and text).
• Home Price Appreciation (HPA) models to accurately predict future home values across different levels of granularity.
• Lead Scoring & Propensity Models to identify the most attractive properties for Homebound to acquire and develop.
• A robust MLOps platform to help manage and scale the above set of models and features.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the strategic vision for Machine Learning and how it can impact the business, then communicate this vision across all levels at Homebound
• Recruit and mentor a growing team of leading data/ML professionals.
• Balance product and business needs with the technical infrastructure needed to rapidly scale the size and breadth of our production ML environment.
• Help identify, architect, and deploy high value ML opportunities across Homebound’s business verticals 
• Understand the importance of organizational feature engineering and MLOps and incorporate these into the ML roadmap

What You Have Done In Your Career:

• Successfully hired, onboarded, coached and mentored a growing team of ML professionals
• 5+ years of professional industry experience as a ML Engineer, Data Scientist, or Software Engineer with a focus on building production data/ML products 
• 2+ years experience as a people manager and/or team lead
• Deep knowledge of machine learning approaches and the technology architectures needed for them to succeed production, ideally in AWS environments
• Partnered closely with product management and business stakeholders to translate product/business requests into technical initiatives and outcomes. 
• Experience spearheading and leading MLOps teams and/or platforms, a plus
