Role Overview

Homebound is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a software development background as well as BI and analytics experience, and will lead and deliver the Business Intelligence vision of powering decisions at every level and across the business with data. The candidate would be comfortable in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment, with the ability to drive the program’s strategy and roadmap, collaborate with business and development teams across the company to analyze and provide actionable insights. The most successful candidate must possess a relentless bias for action, the ability to effectively communicate at all levels, and be extremely detail oriented and organized. 

Responsibilities:

• Hire, manage, coach and lead a high performing team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Analysts.
• Engage with leadership and diversified stakeholder groups to understand data needs and recommend Business Intelligence solutions
• Partner with data engineering teams to define data model to develop streamlined data and analytical pipelines
• Design, implement, and maintain platforms that provide business teams ad-hoc access to large datasets (e.g. data visualization tools for non-tech business users)
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards to drive key business decisions
• Standardize data and report consumption across all customer groups
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
• Conduct written and verbal presentation to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication
• Ability to work on a distributed, diverse team.

Basic Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Math or related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data engineering, data science or related field
• 5+ years Proficiency in SQL, ETL management, data modeling, and working with large amounts of data
• 5+ years Experience with data visualization using Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
• 3+ years Experience in hiring, retaining, coaching, and managing a high-functioning business intelligence team
• 2+ years’ work experience in managing a team of Business Intelligence Engineers/Analysts or Data Scientists.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Math or related quantitative field
• Experience in designing and delivering custom reporting solutions for thousands of users across various ability levels and functions.
• Experience as an intrapreneur in pitching, designing, and delivering advanced analytics and data science solutions on top of business intelligence needs
• Experience with statistical modeling and delivering insight with large data sets
• Experience with Python, or other scripting and statistical software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization
• Experience in managing and prioritizing short-term business needs and long-term projects
