The Fraud Strategy & Analytics team works cross-functionally with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Operations to combat fraudulent activities and to foster a safe platform.

This role requires a lot of cross-functional partnerships and will be leading Analytics for Affirm's Online live decisioning identity and fraud services. Additionally, this role will work closely with the Machine Learning teams to improve our ML fraud models.

What you'll do

  • Proactively explore data and identify opportunities to help accelerate product development or improve existing products
  • Translate analysis and trends into recommendations for business logic to improve identity conversion rates or fraud rates
  • Develop scalable frameworks to manage tiered cutoffs for proprietary fraud machine learning models
  • Evaluate innovative data sources to solve individual identity risk, device risk and transaction risk 
  • Own end-to-end analytics workflow, including defining success and performance metrics, socializing them across the organization, and creating actionable dashboards and reports
  • Partner with Machine Learning on building fraud and identity verification strategies for new product and user segments
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to identify highest impact points in the funnel to drive user acquisition and retention
  • Support new product formation and new vertical exploration

What we look for

  • 2-4 years work experience in fraud/identity or credit at a payments or financial company
  • Fluent in SQL, Experience with Python or R
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree degree in a quantitatively rigorous discipline like engineering, statistics, math, or economics desired
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry risk trends, including familiarity with risk strategy development
  • A team player with ability to collaborate and influence across different teams in the organization
  • Ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Passion to understand how the product works and how to change to make it more effective
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

USA Pacific base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $138,800 - $208,200

USA Sapphire base pay range (all other U.S. states): $124,900 - $187,300
