Splash Financial is hiring a Senior/Product Lead to collaborate with the Data Engineering team, business users (customers) and business stakeholders to develop iterative roadmaps and decompose the product vision into features and stories aligned with market analytic needs.  We have a culture of teams with missions and the autonomy to hit their goals. We are committed to being a Customer first, data-driven organization at Splash, and the Data Product function is a critical role to understanding our internal and external customers.   This role requires strong analytical skills, data structures, the ability to build cross-functional relationships, and a desire to quickly develop deep subject matter expertise in the business services and customer perspectives.  At Splash, we want our Product Leads to have ownership and accountability and expect them to be very proactive in collaborating, setting expectations, understanding the customers and working directly with stakeholders in order to build the best products.   Your ultimate goal is to provide valuable deep analytics solutions to our finance, marketing, executive, and product teams.

What you'll do:

    • You will be a KPI-driven product leader with a clear mission
    • You will elicit business requirements from stakeholders; document business requirements; identify problems that need to be solved; understand stakeholder pain points, and any roadblocks to growth
    • You will work closely with Product Strategy, Operations, Client Services and Data Engineering team to ensure Customer data needs are met in a manner that enables a measurable positive experience or outcome
    • You will represent the voice of the business to development teams, groom Product backlog, prioritize features, manage acceptance criteria, participate in daily scrum activities, and maximize Product value, participate in sprint / PI planning, and coordinate deliverable demonstrations to stakeholder
    • You will  collaborate closely with the stakeholders , engineers and designers to break down visions into valuable, deliverable pieces and communicate priorities, trade-offs, recommendations and roadmaps. 
    • During development this role is responsible for ensuring the solutions developed meets the goals of the initiative, and data and metrics are being collected and regularly shared
    • Constantly gathering feedback from customers and stakeholders.

Essential Functions of a Product Lead

    • Must be an expert in your users and customers. Iterate your solution with constant feedback from the customer. Share very openly what you learn, both the good and the bad. Become your team's and your company's go‐ to person for understanding anything about your customer—quantitative and qualitative.
    • Work to establish a strong relationship with your key stakeholders and business partners. Convince them of two things: (1) You understand the constraints they operate under. (2) You will only bring to them solutions that you believe will work within those constraints.
    • Become an undisputed expert on Splash data and our industry. Again, share your knowledge openly and generously. Be resourceful and work closely with folks on the business, network with others in the industry , deep dive on competing products.
    • Work very hard to build and nurture the strong collaborative relationship with the data delivery team. I.e. Communicating charters/visions so that every engineer is clear on their goals. Hold the team accountable for deliverables and business outcomes. Hold team accountable to commitments. Working closely with the Director of Data Engineering and Product to ensure focus on the vision. resourcing and personnel for the team.

What you'll need:

    • 5+ years of related business analysis or business intelligence development experience
    • 5+ years of experience writing features/user stories, requirements, testing and collaborating with Data Engineering Teams
    • Experience in delivering complex data processing and data pipelines using agile methodology
    • Experienced translating operational and client requirements to data engineers, data scientists, or database analysts
    • Experience with cloud data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse, etc.)
    • Advanced experience in any cloud analytical tools like AWS QuickSight, Sisense, Tableau online, MicroStrategy, PowerBI or similar tools preferred
    • Proven implementation of value-adding data visualization design and best practices
    • Advanced experience writing and interpreting SQL queries
    • Experience developing and delivering formal presentations, including organized visuals and Product Roadmaps, for stakeholders
    • Experience using an Agile development platform such as Rally or Jira (or similar platform) to manage development backlogs
