About the role:

Our Reports team standardizes the way internal Samsara teams turn their data into meaningful analytics and provides Samsara’s customers with powerful interfaces to ingest information, gain valuable insights, and draw conclusions. As part of our Core Feature & Monetization Platform they’re charged with:

  • Ensuring that our customers can rely on our reports to be accurate & timely, driving high standards for operational excellence.
  • Developing the strategy and execution plan to monetize Custom Reports platform features.
  • Interacting regularly with customers to receive/provide feedback loops on critical feature development and enhancements.
  • Owning development and execution of the Custom Reports product roadmap in partnership with engineering.
  • Partnering with various customer-facing teams to deliver on Enterprise customer reporting priorities.
  • Representing the voice of the Enterprise customer while building out our Custom Reports framework.
  • Aligning internal stakeholders with project definition of success.

As a Staff Product Manager, you’ll play a critical role by partnering with engineering, design/UX research, product, and GTM at Samsara to drive these areas forward.

In this role, you will: 

  • Articulate our business & customer priorities related to Custom Reports. Work with engineering to set measurable goals & define a roadmap to deliver on them.
  • Establish a long term monetization strategy for the Custom Reports platform product.
  • Interface with customers to ensure that we reach the outcomes required for their ultimate success. Define product requirements for user-facing capabilities, and serve as the ‘voice of the customer’ in trade-off discussions.
  • Partner with Product and GTM teams to align priorities and dependencies.
  • Actively remove roadblocks so your project(s) are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Understand the long-term view of market dynamics & competitor landscape.
  • Contribute to improve the practice of product management at Samsara, in particular, championing operational excellence.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years in a product management role, with experience working with Enterprise customers.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret large datasets and make informed decisions.
  • Strong credibility with engineers and ability to understand system dependencies.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment and ability to establish trust & credibility with customers.
  • A proven track-record of delivering outstanding results for customers & the business, managing significant complexity & high quality of execution. You also have a bias-to-action and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers, executives, internal audiences, auditors, etc. and cater your comms based on your audience.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • A proven track record of delivering successful reporting features or products while working in a platform-oriented role within a large-scale software development organization.
