About the role:

The Data & Analytics team provides business critical insights using analytics and acts as a strategic thought partner for several stakeholders throughout the organization. As a Strategy and Analytics Manager, you will help answer important and ambiguous strategic questions. We are looking for someone who is analytical and creative as well as a leader and collaborator. You’ll collaborate on challenging projects with diverse thinkers of various backgrounds and skill sets, all working together to deliver extraordinary outcomes. 


In this role, you will:
 

  • Be a strategic thought partner to various stakeholders across the broader go-to-market teams at Samsara (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, etc.) and influence decision making with data and analytics
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve business problems, generate operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards
  • Be a strong leader, and draw upon solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Drive efficiencies which lead to tangible ROI on projects completed
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis to uncover sales and marketing performance gaps
  • Structure and package work into compelling presentations and communications that influence various audiences, including executives.
  • Analyze business processes to identify potential issues and uncover/prioritize levers for improvement
  • Influence executive stakeholders to implement suggested improvements
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable insights, deliverables, messages, and proposals
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration skills, a motivated self-starter that is proactive and action-oriented
  • Sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior leaders
  • Proficient in SQL and visualization platforms (Tableau preferred) 
  • Advanced Excel/google sheets skills including pivots, vlookups, and ability to build complex formulas
  • 3+ years in a strategy/analytical role

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience with B2B go-to-market strategies and identifying areas of opportunity and optimization
  • Hands-on experience working with Databricks and/or Google BigQuery
  • Proficient in Python
  • Data Science, machine learning or predictive analytics experience
