The Product Design and Modeling team is hiring an individual contributor to work on predictive modeling for State Auto’s Business Lines Products. The ideal candidate is proactive and intellectually curious, highly technical, and can efficiently think through complex business questions independently. The role will help in the development and execution of pricing segmentation models for all of State Auto’s Business Lines products.

**This position will support the actuarial exam track.**
Responsibilities:
- Participates in the end-to-end model process of gathering data, model development, implementation, and monitoring
- Collaborates with State Operations, Actuarial, Solutions Delivery, and State Filings to build and implement new models
- Responsible for the development, calibration, and testing of the overall model process with various levels of independence based upon candidate skillset
- Applies knowledge of sophisticated analytics techniques to manipulate large structured and unstructured data sets in order to generate insights to inform business decisions.
- Translates quantitative analyses and findings into accessible visuals for non-technical audiences, providing a clear view into interpreting the data.
- Enables the business to make clear trade-offs between and among choices, with a reasonable view into the likely outcomes
- Regularly engages with the data science community and participates in cross-functional working groups.
