In this role, you will be part of a unique and exciting program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on-the-job learning. This opportunity will provide education into Calix and Data Science. We are looking for someone who is passionate about data quality and data analytics. Someone who is interested in working with new cloud-based tools in the areas of data warehousing, data transformation, and orchestration.

This is an exciting learning opportunity for any aspiring Computer Science or Data Science student to come into a high growth, fast-paced environment and get real hands-on experience as part of the Analytics and Decision Science Team. This role will focus on automating data quality tests from the ERP system to the data lake.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and define business processes and systems to meet user requirements and provide analytical and automation solutions to the business.

  • Investigate, determine and recommend solutions; present functional and technical options.

  • Work closely with business and IT teams to solicit and document requirements.

  • Assist with system setups and the data collection, mapping and configuration to support new and existing functionalities of the system.

  • Defines company data assets (data models)

  • Analyze and design automated test scripts

  • Manage project schedules and test plans

  • Work with the third-party application database administrators, technical and functional analysts to perform systems administration tasks.

  • Communicate progress on projects and system support issues to management and user groups.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,  Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience

  • Strong technical skills with ability to communicate and coordinate work with third-party partners

  • Experience and coursework working with databases, data modelling, information systems, business decision systems or similar

  • Analytical knowledge of data

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud products desired

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Query and Office 365 application skills

  • Experience with Power BI

  • Advanced experience, or coursework, in SQL

  • Programming experience like Python and R will be beneficial

  • Experience with Snowflake desired

  • Experience, or coursework, with Project Management principles and standards

  • Experience with DBT desired

Location:

  • This is a remote-based position in the United States or Canada
