Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytics Engineer or Senior Analytics Engineer to join the Data Team. In this role, you will work closely with department heads, engineers, and functional leads to build and maintain robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and actionable, enabling our team to make informed business decisions. You will also play a key role in providing business feedback, helping us refine and improve our business based on your analytical and technical points of view.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using Fivetran and homegrown tools.
  • Analytics Engineering: Develop and optimize data models, transformations, integrations, and visualizations using dbt, Snowflake, Hightouch, and Tableau.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data to provide insights on resort performance, inventory management, revenue operations, financial metrics, etc.
  • Reporting: Creating dashboards and reports that provide stakeholders with the necessary data to make informed decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and functional leads to understand data needs, deliver insights, and support company priorities and initiatives.

Salary:

  • $125,000 - $175,000 annually

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data analysis, with a strong focus on building and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in dbt, Snowflake, Hightouch, Tableau, or similar tools. Experience with ELT processes and data integration tools.
  • Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data modeling principles and experience in designing and optimizing data models for analytics.
  • Data Analysis: Expertise in analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and optimize data processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring data accuracy and integrity in all outputs.
  • SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance in large datasets.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Learning about the timeshare industry and how Vacatia’s business works
  • Creating pull requests with code changes to support simple reporting requests
  • Comfortable working in dbt Cloud

  • Familiar with how our revenue operations data models and business processes work
  • Independently triaging and developing fixes for some data deployment failures
  • Contributing to internal conversations on data organization and structure
  • Developing pull requests to deliver fixes or enhancements to complex modeling pipelines

By the 90-day mark, you’ll be…

  • Comfortable building a new data source from scratch
  • Regularly contributing to documentation and housekeeping improvements for the team
  • Gathering requirements, scope, and build data models with little-to-no guidance from more senior members of the team
  • Contributing to team roadmap discussions
