The Ecosystem and Operational Insights Team at Netflix is at the forefront of improving user experience around the world. Our mission is centered around collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure Netflix's renowned quality and reliability standards are consistently met across the diverse device ecosystem and key platforms. The Ecosystem and Operational Insights team partners with engineering and product management teams to enable data collection, improve metric fidelity, and derive actionable insights around product feature reliability, device ecosystem health, and engineering operational efficiency. Our team's charter involves providing stakeholders with key data products and tools - datasets, custom metrics, and dashboards - to derive valuable insights crucial for informed decision-making.

About the Role

In this role, you will work alongside software engineers and product managers to ideate, design, and implement data-driven solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, then partner with engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to build data pipelines and a variety of analytics tools, such as dashboards, alerts, and automated reports.

About you:

  • Experience leveraging statistical inference and machine learning models to present actionable insights
  • Hands-on experience building intuitive schemas and data models for web-scale datasets
  • High proficiency in standard data science tech stack (e.g., Python, SQL, Spark) and common data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey data insights to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds
  • Positive attitude that welcomes opportunities to give and receive candid feedback
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to take ownership, and thrive with minimal oversight and process

What you will do:

  • Take full ownership of foundational data models and accelerate productization of data insights
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze large and complex data sets from various sources, including client logging events, customer activity, and business applications
  • Collaborate with engineers during the development process to integrate data logging and reporting into product features
  • Communicate insights to broad sets of stakeholders across the organization
  • Create insightful data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau to help stakeholders easily understand and act upon data

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $150,000 - $700,000.

We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
