Headway is growing fast, and we’re looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our scaling team! 

Our Data team is a vital part of Headway’s strategy setting. We’re not going to ask you to build dashboards that no one will look at or one-off reports that you have no context for -- instead you’ll be engaging with stakeholders to help them leverage data in their day-to-day operations and extending our data products to solve impactful problems. You’ll also be a core contributor to the operating system of our small but growing team by helping us make key decisions around the infrastructure, products, and relationships we build across the company

We’re looking for an analytics engineer to empower operational teams across the company with data.

You will:

• Become a trusted strategic partner to operational stakeholders, implement data products in day-to-day operations, and use them to generate early insights that impact operations
• Integrate new data sources in the data warehouse and build data models in dbt/Looker that create visibility into operations
• Help set standards, define, and improve our early data infrastructure and team operating system

You will love this role if: 

• You are a data generalist with a demonstrated history (ideally 2+ years) of building data products and completing analyses in partnership with stakeholders
• You have experience working in a modern data stack (bonus points if you’ve worked with dbt and/or Looker), are opinionated about how data flows through them, can write complex SQL with ease, and have used python or R in ad hoc analyses or infrastructure development
• You relish working closely with domain experts and deeply understanding their needs. You know how to translate those needs into data models that solve problems
• You love figuring out what metrics drive performance, designing the best data model to measure them, and communicating results
• You're a strategic thinker and communicator. You bridge the technical gap. You can be deep in the technical weeds in one moment, and in the next moment zoom out to help evaluate our long-term operational strategy and understand how your results tie in 
• You're energized by ambiguity. You are excited by the idea that the roadmap may change, because you will help build the roadmap. You are motivated by the opportunity to build the things that will help us scale, and you will ruthlessly prioritize the things that matter most
