The Data Team is part of the Engineering department and is responsible for analytics, data platforms and data engineering, and data science. Our work mainly involves:
- Building enterprise-wide data models for on-demand, tactical, strategic, and self-service data analysis
- Maintaining, updating, and expanding the data platform
- Developing data products
- And advanced analytics initiatives for internal and external users.

As part of the Data Team, the Analytics team works in a hybrid operational model performing analyses for specific business functions such as Marketing, MX, Product, and Finance. The data used in this work comes from dbt models curated by the Analytics Engineering team, and depending on scope, recurrence, and audience, results are usually shared using either Hex or Looker.

As an Analytics Manager at Loop, you'll significantly impact our ability to solve merchant problems and fulfill merchant needs. The Analytics team is doing fantastic work, and you'll help to increase the visibility of that work. Loop HQ is a state-of-the-art office located in Columbus, Ohio, and more than half of our team works remotely across the United States and Canada. You can choose to join us in the Columbus office or stay fully remote in this role.

What You’ll Do:

    • Coach the analysts and develop personal growth opportunities. 
    • Advance the team's analytical skills by providing technology and process guidance.
    • Help manage large, strategic projects.
    • Prioritize the team's work in an agile fashion.
    • Write high-quality code (i.e., reliable, readable, efficient, testable), provide quality code reviews, and create comprehensive tests and documentation. 
    • Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to help build data models and pipelines in support of analytics initiatives

Your Experience:

    • 5 years of hands-on experience as a data analyst.
    • 2 years of demonstrable experience leading and managing the day-to-day work of an analytics team.
    • Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL. 
    • Solid Python or R programming skills applied to data analysis.
    • Hands-on experience working with analytics platforms, preferably Looker. 
    • Knowledge of statistics and its applications in data analysis.
    • Understanding of predictive analytics techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, KNN, k-means, etc. 
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Experience with all aspects of hiring/recruiting.

Nice-to-have Experience:

    • Familiarity with dbt and ETL.
    • Ability to create effective business partner relationships.
    • Ability to develop complex analytics project plans and execute independently.
    • Great storytelling skills – can write knowledge posts and explain data findings in business terms.
