About the Role

We are looking for an Analytics Manager to lead one of our data analytics teams through the next phase of growth. This is an exciting opportunity to have a lot of influence on the future structure and process of the data function at a hyper-growth phase startup.

The role will be responsible for driving our analytic capabilities, supporting our analyses/experimentation function, partnering with our business teams to support our data-driven culture, and developing a robust internship program to support the rapid growth of Snapcommerce. You will mentor, lead and coach a high-performing group of Data Analysts, and work closely with senior leadership to drive data-centric business decisions and reach our ambitious company goals. You will also play an ownership role in the selection, maintenance, and onboarding of our modern technology stack (Fivetran, Snowflake, Amplitude, dbt, and Looker).

We are looking for someone who can leverage our large-scale data on user behavior with predictive analytics, segmentation, AB testing, and other advanced methodologies to increase customer retention and acquisition, and support our growing new verticals. In this role, you will be a thought partner with business stakeholders and engineering leaders helping to build upon the algorithms and insights that inform every customer journey.

Key Challenges

    • People Leader: You will hire, train, motivate, and support direct reports. You will oversee a team of 3+ Analysts. You will compare actual versus expected deliverables at high frequencies and exchange actionable feedback.
    • Analytical Vision: Articulate a strategic vision for your team covering the business plan, technology, tools, operations, and align that with various other teams across the company. Implement and enforce best practices and workflows that improve the use of data across the organization.
    • Experimentation Framework: Build upon the existing testing framework to support our business teams in quick interactions on A/B testing to drive hypothesis-driven innovation.
    • Data-driven Culture: It’s one of our core values! You will be an ambassador for our data-driven culture, taking data and using it to answer complex business questions, drive strategy, and inform decision-making.
    • Solution Architecture: You will work closely with our data engineering team to define data requirements and design systems that will scale and can be leveraged across applications.
    • Analytics Engineering Health: You will promote the health (integrity, reliability, cost) of our data platform with code reviews, technical mentorship, tech talks (internal & external) and expansion of best practices.
    • Delivery Excellence: You will partner with leaders and stakeholders across Snapcommerce to define, design and deliver data solutions to support self-service analytics and promote data-supported decision making across the company.
    • Collaboration: You will build a collaborative and inclusive team culture that breaks down barriers, builds bridges and grows the team to become stronger and more versatile.

About You

    • You enjoy mentoring people and are very good at it. That means you’ve had a team of direct reports (2+ individuals) for at least 1+ years and you’ve demonstrated the ability to develop a team including hiring, coaching, and mentoring of team members.
    • You have 3+ years of progressive experience in the Analytics field using modern tools to build reports, dashboards, data visualizations, data models, data warehouses/lakes and queries.
    • You have worked as an analytics lead and/or data team lead in a fast-paced environment and understand how to drive insights from complex data.
    • You have extensive experience working with Team Directors across business functions and using data to influence company decisions.
    • You can design clear and actionable analysis plans that target impactful insights and use the most appropriate statistical practices.
    • You have extensive experience in your analysis language of choice (Python or R) to complete analyses that have clear conclusions and recommendations.
    • You are outstanding at pulling, cleaning, and manipulating large sets of complex data and transforming them into structures that are easy to understand.
    • You understand that some systems need to be built to scale and others need to be built fast. You can make those tradeoffs and reach mutually beneficial conclusions with stakeholders.
    • You are a problem solver, forward thinker, and someone who can ruthlessly prioritize different business initiatives.
    • You can acquire and establish credibility quickly by demonstrating your subject matter expertise in the technology and our areas of business.
