A bit about this role:

The BI Analyst is a critical role collaborating with business leaders to increase transparency, streamline metrics, and solve key challenges for the company.  This individual will foster a data-driven culture by using their technical expertise to identify opportunities to improve key outcomes and operational efficiency. This individual will build trust among data consumers by ensuring data integrity and consistency in the BI layer. Reporting into the Data Organization, you will work closely with many teams within the company (business teams, data science, product management, analytics engineering, data engineering, software engineering) to determine how best to measure and present our company’s performance. 

Whether you have a health care background or not, we are excited to learn from and share knowledge with you. Our leadership team includes seasoned alumni of healthcare and technology organizations spanning the public and private sector. Our co-founders deeply understand and care about good technology: Todd Park co-founded Athenahealth, a multi-billion-dollar healthcare technology company, and served as CTO of the U.S.; Ed Park was athenahealth's founding engineer and served as its CTO, COO, and President of Services.

We want a strong BI Analyst who is comfortable digging deep into complex data, enjoys telling a story through data visualization, and knows the importance of data governance when building lasting data products. We are eager to find folks who are passionate about building great technology to solve problems for users—our members, our colleagues, and ourselves.  

Responsibilities will include:

• Developing deep domain knowledge in healthcare and how to measure and drive key performance indicators

• Collaborating with business leads and data scientists to determine the most impactful work, executing, and iterating quickly

• Streamlining metric definitions and tools, advocating for data governance while building a trustworthy reporting layer

• Communicate findings and their limitations to leaders and teams

• Working with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to build out necessary supporting data warehousing infrastructure in Snowflake or Devoted’s internal operating platform

• Bringing an analytical mindset to every conversation across the company

Desired skills and experience:                                                                                

• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment

• Empathetic collaboration with business leads across the organization

• Strong communication of technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

• 5+ years experience writing advanced SQL

• 5+ years experience developing metrics and performing analytics

• 3+ years experience with development in a BI tool (preferably Looker)

Salary range: $115,000 - $125,000 per year
