The opportunity:

You will be joining a remote team of passionate engineers reporting into one of our engineering leaders.  In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, design and customer reliability teams. Parsley Health is an outcome driven organization and your work will directly contribute to the company objectives:  expand the business nationally, improve activation, conversion, retention, and expansion of our healthcare products.

Our tech stack

• GCP is our platform for all custom application development and services.
• Services are dockerized and scheduled by Kubernetes.
• Airflow, Fivetran, and Dataform are our ETL tools, predominantly using SQL and Python.
• BigQuery is our data warehouse.
• Looker is our self-service data and dashboarding tool.
• Cloud Build is our CI/CD service.

What you’ll do:

• Manage and architect our ETL, warehouse, and data delivery/viz.
• Craft critical retrospective reports for use by Ops, Clinical, Product, Finance, and MX.
• Provide actionable, prospective insights to support business and clinical decisions.
• Engage functional peers on core business strategies and how data products support those efforts.
• Work closely with stakeholder groups to define requirements, design appropriate BI solutions, and implement applications against development standards and best practices.
• Provide timely and accurate estimates of development Levels of Effort (LOE) and appropriate status updates.
• Provide Technical leadership.
• Explore promising new technologies to differentiate our care and products.

About you:

You appreciate the challenge of building reliable and timely business intelligence systems to promote actionable insights.  You know that good ETL, preparation, and visualization are key to getting the right answer - and you also know that understanding your stakeholder’s problems is the key to getting the right question. 

You know when to develop an MVP based on a few requirements gathered in a conversation, and when to suggest a dedicated meeting to sort out the “what-why-how”. 

You have a healthy appreciation for the many ways in which distributed systems may fail. You're always thinking beyond the scope of the current project, and about the larger product vision. You are thrilled to deliver the right information, at the right time, in support of our member’s health and clinician’s decision process.

What you’ll need:

• 3+ years of data and analytics experience
• Self-directed learner in data tooling and solutions.
• Healthcare data experience preferred.
• Strong client-facing skills.
• Expert SQL skills.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
• Knowledge of cloud-centric architecture and design patterns.
• Containerization experience, knowledge of CI tooling, testing frameworks and other code quality tools are crucial.
