A bit about this role:
At Devoted, we work tirelessly to get the right care to the right member by the right person at the right time. We are looking for a Clinical Data Analyst who will help us understand how we are doing at that and identify ways to do better.
This role will work within our clinical team and will report to the Head of Clinical Prioritization & Coordination - a member of our Clinical Leadership Team who has been at Devoted for over 2 years. You will partner closely with data scientists and work across Devoted’s many different clinical programs.

Because this work directly guides the work our teams do each day with our members, it requires a scrappiness to help fix problems quickly. But that is balanced by being part of a growing team shaping the evolution of complex algorithms to keep dramatically improving how our clinical services wrap around each member in a personalized way.
In this role you will get to work with many different clinical teams and get broad exposure to Devoted’s different clinical services. If you are more interested in partnering closely with a couple clinical programs on their performance, we are hiring for data analyst roles there too.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing how we are doing getting the right care to the right members
- - For example: Is our diabetes program reaching out to the members who most need additional help with their diabetes?
- Digging in to identify opportunities to improve how our algorithms are working to identify the best members for additional help
- - For example: why was our algorithm suggesting we don’t reach out to this diabetic member? Should we adjust that?
- Measuring how well we are coordinating care for our members
- - For example: are some members getting contacted too frequently, by too many different people? Are others not getting enough help?
- Reporting and dashboards related to the above
- Communicating results to an audience of mixed technical and clinical backgrounds
- Working with various stakeholders, such as data engineering, product, and clinical leadership
Required skills and experience:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent SQL skills (Window functions, pivot, and writing queries in performant ways)
- Experience with data visualization and dashboarding
- You believe that data is a team sport
- Prior experience in healthcare OR demonstrated interest in healthcare and experience quickly learning new areas
Bonus skills and experience:
- Experience or interest in quantitative prediction algorithms (ever tried your hand at forecasting election results or predicting sports performance?)
- Experience with version control software (Git)
- Experience with Looker
