This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

Work/Project Scope: 

• Build scalable infrastructure and ML platform for all of the ML teams at Upwork. 
• Senior member of a team of 5 ML engineers to build the next-generation ML infrastructure.
• Work cross-functionally to drive improvements in processes or systems ensuring alignment with key imperatives and core strategies of the Machine Learning Engineering organization
• Work closely with ML Application Teams as users of your platform: Growth, Search, and Trust & Safety (T&S).

  Must-Have (Required Skills):

• 6 years of hands-on Machine Learning Engineering experience designing ML-focused platforms and infrastructure that accelerate model development, training, deployment and monitoring. 
• Extremely proficient in Scala/Java/Python
• Hands-on experience in Spark, SageMaker and EMR
• Experience with design and development of streaming pipelines.
• Experience with MLOps platforms in AWS
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) 
• Experience with databases (SQL, DynamoDB, Redis)
• Experience in ML libraries (pandas, tensorflow, pytorch, etc).
• Experience designing distributed systems for cloud-based microservices architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure)
