The Data Analyst, as part of the Enterprise Informatics Team is responsible for the retrieval and analysis of enterprise data to support process improvement, trend analyses, and identification of operational deficiencies. Additional responsibilities include collaborative work with multiple departments within the organization such as: Clinical, Quality, Network Management, Medical Economics, and other areas within the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
•    Prioritize data analyses as directed by the Enterprise Data Officer. Draw conclusions about data findings. Use data to drive operational functions or process improvements. 
•    Assist in design of analyses to discover, articulate, assess, or measure impact of organization programs or initiatives. 
•    Conducts ad hoc analysis as needed to meet various operational and organizational needs.
•    Articulate and enable preemptive measures to permanently address issues, rather than repeatedly revisit them                                                                 •    Performs or assists with functions such as, but not limited to: development and maintenance of self-service reporting/dashboards, financial and utilization models needed for problem definition, contract leakage detection, contract performance evaluation, clinical program initiatives, and related ad-hoc analyses
•    Assist Enterprise Data Officer or Manager in working with other corporate stakeholders to analyze trends for different areas within the organization.
•    Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.
•    Build strong customer relationships and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations;  establish and maintain effective customer relationships – both internal as well as external


Other:
•    Partner with IT and other departments within the organization to identify opportunities to enhance automation of processes.
•    Work collaboratively with cross functional areas across the organization (ie Clinical, Quality, Medical Economics, Network Management, etc.)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT 
•    Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment. 

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION    

Required:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Preferred/Desired:
•    Master’s Degree in related field

EXPERIENCE    

Required:
•    2+ years of analytic work in a professional work environment2-3 years prior health care payer industry experience 
Preferred/Desired:
•    Prior experience working for a health plan or in a managed care setting.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES    

•    Possess strong analytic and technical skills and the ability to translate complicated data into useable information
•    In-depth knowledge and understanding of health care claims data, coding schemes (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT-4, DRGs) 
•    Demonstrated knowledge of managed care concepts and the financial relationship between payers and providers
•    In-depth knowledge and understanding of the various types of contractual relationships payers have with providers, including global and bundled payments and risk-sharing arrangements
•    Demonstrated knowledge of database and data structures as well as of general systems technology.
•    Organizational and project management skills to manage projects effectively; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•    Ability to conduct analytic work in an efficient manner with minimal re-work including effective use the peer review process
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills; the ability to relate positively with individuals at all levels both internally at AllWays Health Partners and externally with providers
•    Creative, flexible, and self-motivated with sound judgment
•    Receptive to and seeks out feedback; uses self-discipline to adjust to feedback

•    Advanced Excel skills; experience using query tools such as Access, SQL and/or SAS

 ACTION 
The majority of work is conducted with minimal oversight or supervision.  The Data Analyst independently designs and executes data queries, analyzes and interprets findings, and presents results to manager and director-level staff.  When data appear out of the expected range, the Data Analyst independently investigates and presents findings to the EDO, as needed.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE
The Data Analyst works collaboratively with staff, managers, and directors in Finance, Provider Network Management, and Clinical Services.  In addition, the Data Analyst will interact with AllWays Health Partners Executives and externally, with individuals from our provider network.
