Job Summary

The Role: Data Analyst

Location: Fully Remote within the United States with travel 3 - 4 times a year

We are searching for a Data Analyst who is passionate about using data to support Hazel’s growing health care business. The Data Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining key reporting and analytical tools primarily for the Revenue Cycle Management and Finance functions. The Analyst will work with teams across Hazel to improve, refine, and manage multiple data sets and conduct analyses that move the business forward. In this role, you will have end-to-end visibility into the operations of a high-impact startup and will play a critical role in guiding the work of teammates at all levels of the organization. This position reports to the Manager of Data and Analytics, working in close collaboration with Revenue Operations and Finance function.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining reporting platforms, including creating and updating complex dashboards and reports, integrating data from a variety of internal and external sources, and training users on best practices
  • Connect various health care data sets (visits, billing, collections, etc.) to create end-to-end analytics supporting Revenue Cycle Management objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain deep understanding of business needs and data sources 
  • Participate in strategic planning projects, annual budgeting, and forecast development
  • Support high-priority, high-visibility strategic initiatives, with an expectation of comprehensive, responsive, time-sensitive completion of deliverables 
  • Deeply explore the data and discover opportunities, patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest features and functionality of the reporting platforms
  • Design and deliver end-user training and training materials relative to business intelligence/reporting solutions

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • 3-5 years of business analytics experience with increasing levels of responsibility 
  • Deep technical experience with SQL and other programming languages
  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools, and data warehouses
  • Experience developing data models and databases at a rapidly scaling organization
  • Revenue Cycle Management experience in healthcare is preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce and Snowflake are preferred
  • Familiarity with health care delivery, health insurance, and/or health care financing
  • Have an active interest in business-side implications of work, “keep up” with what’s going on with the business, feel comfortable with collaborating with business stakeholders at all levels of seniority to understand and deliver on their data needs
  • Ability to distill complex information in a consumable, actionable way for internal and external audiences
