Who We Are

As part of Key’s second line of defense Compliance Risk Management function, the Risk Evaluation and Assurance (“REA”) Program has the responsibility for evaluating Key’s ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations through the execution of compliance monitoring and testing across Key’s lines of business, products, and functional activities. The Testing and Analytics group serves in the critical role of assisting the REA team in the execution of testing and monitoring through the development of advanced data-driven testing methodologies, analysis, and monitoring. 

Who You Are

You are a creative, intellectually curious, problem-solver interested in helping to evolve our collaborative and data-driven testing approach utilizing a suite of analytical tools. You have a functional knowledge of financial services operations and/or compliance, strong technical data analysis skills and acumen (i.e. – retrieving, combining, and analyzing data) and a passion for continuous learning and challenging the status quo.  You have attention to detail and are task-oriented; you can execute on a project from start to finish while requesting support as needed.

*This position may be filled at different salary grade levels (job grade 81/83) depending on candidate qualifications

Essential Job Functions

  • Advance the maturity of the REA data analytics program by leveraging current and emerging enterprise technologies (i.e. SAS Enterprise Guide, Google Cloud BigQuery, SQL, Python, R, Excel/VBA, etc.).
  • Leverage existing enterprise meta data repositories and assist in the development of REA documentation on data sources to facilitate locating, accessing, understanding, analyzing, and validating data.
  • Perform data mining through back-end databases, validating data sets, improving efficiencies of various processes, and analyzing the results.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements while managing competing resources and priorities.
  • Be able to demonstrate and document the accuracy of data used by REA for data analytics.
  • Act as an internal advisor to the REA team; perform requirements analysis and assist throughout the data acquisition process to ensure that the requirements for scoped analytics are met within reasonable timeframes.  Outline and assist with internal user acceptance and data validity testing.
  • Support the REA team in utilizing data analysis tools and techniques to analyze, quantify, and assess risks and to integrate the use of data analytics into ongoing testing evaluations, ad-hoc monitoring, and risk intelligence reporting and dashboarding.
  • Stay abreast of best practices, and trends in the use of data analytics for risk management, compliance, internal audit, operational and other risk areas within large banks. Stay informed on regulatory expectations for the use of data analytics in banks.
  • Assist management in developing and enforcing new standards and methodologies that enhance the data analytics strategy and framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Systems (IT / MIS), Business Analytics, Computer Science, or other related quantitative or IT field of study.
  • 3 to 5+ years of practical and functional experience in data extraction, analysis, and/or reporting typically achieved through work as a: business, data, operations, compliance, or risk analyst; internal auditor; or role that includes significant aspects of the listed essential job functions.
  • Experience with data harvesting and analytic tools (i.e. SAS Enterprise Guide, Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, SQL, Python, R, ACL, Excel/VBA, etc.)
  • Proven experience delivering Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Skill and ability to work with big data and navigate data warehouse(s) and retrieving, combining, and analyzing data.
  • Autonomous, self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to change or shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards, strong critical/strategic thinking, detective, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication (verbal and written) with the ability to develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships in a team environment and with mid to senior level management and internal clients.

Preferred Skills/Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge or expertise in database querying, data transformation, data visualization, and/or analytical software or programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, Google BigQuery, Python, Tableau, etc.)
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • SAS Certified Associate
    • SAS Certified Specialist
    • Tableau Desktop Specialist
    • Tableau Certified Data Analyst
    • PCEP™ – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer
    • PCAP™ – Certified Associate in Python Programming
  • Knowledge of financial services industry source systems (e.g. loan origination/servicing, deposits, etc.) and operations/process flows.
  • Knowledge or skill in project management principles and techniques
  • Practical working knowledge of financial services compliance and operations including the related rules and regulations of the financial services industry to include OCC, FRB, CFPB, State Law, and other pertinent regulations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $70,000 to $80,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
