What’s the job?
Working closely with the product and development teams, the Data Architect will analyze Q-Centrix business needs, and develop appropriate data deliverables, such as, data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries and glossaries to meet them. Data Architect will also assist in issue resolution, in operationalizing Data Governance, in assessing, measuring and tracking data quality, and in creating and socializing data management artifacts, such as, SOP’s, standards and guidelines, control processes etc. This role will be heavily involved in our overall data strategy and the implementation of the strategy across our existing data assets.

Get ready to…

    • Provide data management expertise in evaluating requirements and developing data architecture and BI solutions that meet those requirements.  Data management includes appropriate structuring, stewardship of data, semantics/syntax of data attributes, coding structures, and mapping schemes.
    • Design logical Data Warehouse architecture and data model, implement Data Warehouse design (schema, indexes, partitions, etc.)
    • Develop technical architectures, designs, and processes to extract, cleanse, integrate, organize and present data from a variety of sources and formats for analysis and use across use cases.
    • Design ETL architecture including CDC, mappings, data flows, procedures, schedules, etc.
    • Design semantic layer based on the reporting requirements
    • Design reporting architecture and provide recommendations for reporting technology
    • Guide and coach engineers and BI analysts, share best practices, perform code reviews
    • Coordinate activities with data source owners to ensure integration within data warehouse and that data integrity issues are pre-emptively addressed.
    • Liaise and attend meetings necessary to perform duties and aid business and technical development.
    • Work with source system and business SME’s to develop an understanding of the data requirements and options available within data sources to meet the data and business requirements.

You’re our ideal team member if you…

    • Have 8 + years of hands-on professional experience and a bachelor’s degree
    • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
    • Very strong technical knowledge in ETL tools (e.g. SQL Server SSIS, Informatica Talend), RDMS (SQL Server, Postgres, Snowflake), OLAP tools (Microsoft SSAS), Reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker), ability to work alone or in conjunction with a team, similar technologies
    • Certifications are a strong plus
    • DBA skills and DB performance tuning knowledge a strong plus
    • Working experience in AWS
    • Good knowledge of standard methodologies, concepts, data modelling, best practices, and procedures within a Business Intelligence environment
    • Creativity and flexibility in job role and working hours during critical deliveries
    • Strong familiarity with Agile methodology
    • A natural sense of urgency, initiative and is a positive team player to be reflected in daily      work ethics
    • Experience working with Data Governance frameworks
    • Strong experience performing conceptual and logical data model design
    • Knowledge of SAS, Python, R or other statistical analysis software and its fit in the overall data architecture landscape
