The data engineering team at Boulevard is responsible for the development and productization of our data warehousing, insights, and analytics systems. We’re looking for someone with a strong command of modern data pipelines, data modeling, and data operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining the systems that expand upon our data infrastructure. You will work closely with leadership across Product Management, Engineering, Finance, and our C-Suite to, owning both the roadmap and delivery of their solutions.
What you’ll do here:
• Use best-in-class tooling (FiveTran, Snowflake, etc) to provide a comprehensive data foundation that will grow with the company.
• Implement modern data transformation tooling alongside continuous integration to ensure consistent and automated evolution for our data warehousing
• Expand upon Boulevard’s data pipelines by partnering with engineering leaders and teams across the company to ensure that we are producing and capturing data at the right time and in the right format for both our own product and internal needs
• Turn data into a revenue driver - Let’s work together to expose data to our customers and partners in creative, elegant, and innovative ways (eg, by using Snowflake data sharing).
• Provide guidance for how we model data across a variety of services
• Drive excellence through thoughtful documentation and processes for all data-related services
• Work with product owners & analysts to craft our data strategy and engineering roadmap
• Work with business partners to gather, analyze, and translate requirements for our internal analytics needs
• Research and evaluate new technologies to guide our continuous improvement
What you’ll need to thrive:
• Experience: Mid to senior level experience in a high-growth data environment.
• Database Expert: Excellent SQL skills. Complicated SQL statements roll off your fingertips with ease
• Technical Languages: Proficiency in multiple languages, such as Java, Python, Scala.
• Strong Communicator: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills across both technical and nontechnical teams
• Analytical: Impressive problem-solving, critical thinking skills, business acumen within the SaaS industry
• Timely: Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
• BONUS POINTS: A quantitatively focused education (Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, etc.) | Prior experience at a start-up or growth-stage company | Exposure to PCI, HIPAA, CCPA/GDPR.
Within 1 month you’ll...
• Graduate from Boulevard’s platform training course
• Connect with and understand how each department and key stakeholders across the company leverage data
• Understand and document the current data landscape
• Learn the core business objectives and company KPIs
• Begin implementation of CICD managed workflows with dbt and GitHub.
Within 2 months you’ll…
• Be contributing to the data engineering roadmap and corresponding hiring plan
• Document and iterate on the lifecycle of our data pipelines
• Suggest best practices and improvements for data infrastructure
• Collaborate with our engineering and product teams to document and adhere to data compliance and privacy requirements
After 3 months you’ll...
• Take ownership over our data pipelines and implement monitoring and observability goals
• Actively participate in interviews and be a key contributor in the growth of the data team
• Evolve our data warehousing strategy alongside production data model changes and the dimensional analysis goals for the product
• Showcase to the engineering team and company your contributions and enhancements to our underlying foundation
